I've regipped a fair share of golf clubs, but lately I've found I have difficulty doing it. I sometimes get the grip stuck before I can push it down and the solvent drives, and then I'm . What do you guys do or recommend for regripping?
You have to make sure you use plenty of solvent. I nearly fill my grip with solvent, swish it around, pour it all over the tape and quickly slide that puppy on. Even after it sticks a bit, you can twist it straight.
Also, there is grip tape out now that is water activated. Some guys use an air compressor and don't even use tape. I've not personally done this yet. Hopefully someone will link you.

i do the same thing,, i spray a TONNN of windex (solvent) in the grip and i just pour it all over the tape and hurry up and put it on.
If the grip is hard to push on, pull it, if the grip doesn't pull well where you are pulling, pull somewhere else, then push again,.... for example. If you switch and move your action around, the grip will move.
Solvent and lots lots lots of it. I do it the old fashioned way but use a catch tray so I can reuse excess solvent. Don't be afraind to just soak the grip and tape with it. I have never had a grip stick half way and always have time to position it. You want to see the solvent just dripping off and oozing out when you press the grip onto the tape.
You guys have to come into the 21st century, blow your grips on with a $ 60, air compressor. 50 lbs of pressure and the grips go on and off in seconds.
I didn't believe it when someone told me about it, but I had to try anyway.
It was the easiest way I've ever installed a grip.
And no, the grip didn't fly off when I swung the club.

hmmm interesting... may give that a try - i love wd-40!! (BTW I got my wedge - need to take some pics of it - its in my bag full time now!)
When I use tape and solvent, I just fill the grip completely full of mineral spirits and pour it over the tape, If you don't waste time and apply the grip right away, you shouldn't have any problems. I also use an air compressor some times. Either method works quite well. But I don't use air for installing a putter grip, as I want to be able to twist the grip as needed to make sure it's perfectly staight. That's a lot harder with an air compressor.

Billy- How long does that take to dry, before you can swing it? Seems like it would take days.

I've always used LOTS of solvent too.
I didn't take more than an hour or two to feel like it was working. I let the club "cure" overnight, then used it the next afternoon. It's been over a year and there hasn't been any problems with the club.
I think it's worth a try on at least one of your grips. You don't need to soak it either... just a quick spray. Make sure the grip is completely covered with the liquid.. on the inside, of course. Slip it on, line it up, then leave it be.
