So, two weeks ago my girlfriend bought me a Taylormade Burner for my birthday and I absolutely love it. I am a fanatic about keeping my clubs in pristine condition, but yesterday my girlfriend picks up the driver and takes a "practice swing" with it and I hear a clank behind me. She took her practice swing on the crushed rock cart trail and caught a few rocks. Yes I got angry and yes she apologized profusely, but now I want to know if these marks can be removed?
They really aren't that severe and will probably not be noticable after a few months of regular playing but they annoy me to no end. Any suggestions? (other than never taking her golfing or letting her use my gear again)
I suggest you take a deep breath and relize its just a club and having pristine clubs don't impress on the golf course Other than that - rubbing compounds?
I'm like that with all of my things and even my fingernails, not just my clubs. Scratches and imperfections drive me nuts and I've been like that as long as I can remember. People have jokingly suggested a job as a curator at a museum if my current career doesn't work out
heres what to do. find her best fingernail file. and file the scratches flush then use a sos pad and rub the same direction as the scratches back and forth .till the scratches pretty much go away. then apply brasso. buff with a soft cloth it wont be perfect but its better than scratches. bye the way my clubs are cleaned and shined after every round. i have issues

Whooey oh boy... wait'll your girlfriend gets a little aged, and those sctratches and imperfections turn to gouges and droops...
What're you gonna do with her then? Spackle, sand paper and a buffer?
I like to keep my clubs as pristine as possible too, but calm down man. It's a tool. Hammers, screwdrivers, etc., will all get scratches over time. It's the nature of the beast.
The only way to completely avoid it is not play.
PS: I use "Liquid Glass" on my graphite shafts and driver, wood, and hybrid heads.
....Yes I got angry and yes she apologized profusely.....
doh, no style points scored here

Won't have to because she won't be around much longer.
I understand the need to have belongings in pristine condition but putting it at a higher priority than others feelings or how they are treated will not benefit a good friendship.

I got angry but contained it, although she knew how I really felt and began apologizing immediately. You know when you bite your lower lip and say that it is ok? Thats what I did but she just knew how I felt. I didn't place my driver on a higher pedestal than her feelings, it was about 3 inches shorter. I'd say that the gouges are closer to scars than scratshed, so that might clarify my original description.
As far as not being around much longer, she's been around for 8 years and I really don't see her packing up shop any time soon.
Try a sanding block with a fine grit paper , basically, it's sandpaper glued onto a block of soft foam. I use it when I sell a club on the club's face and sole to clean up scratches, works very well.

lol, you don't know women to well; they can/will pull the rug out from under you when you least expect it (been there done that).
don't worry about those scratches, it won't be the first time and there will be more drivers in the future - its just a tool. Besides, it gives you an excuse to upgrade later.
