reshafting X16 pro series

Hi there, I need to reshaft a set of Callaway X16 pro series. I was hoping someone could advise me as to which one of the 3 options that I am aware of is the easiest

1. Bore the hosel out to make the hosel parallel
2. Use a tapered shaft
3. Put the slits into a parallel shaft as Callaway do

Also I was hoping for some advice as to whether project X shafts would be suitable in a set of X16?

Many thanks

Richard

Re: reshafting X16 pro series

I think the Project X shafts would work fine, as they are some of the best shafts for a set of irons. For easy, it would be easiest to use the same type of shaft as is in the irons now. Then all you have to do is pull the current shafts, clean out the hosels, and install the new shafts. Can't think of what could be easier than that.

Re: reshafting X16 pro series

Hi there, thanks for the advise, but unfortunately it is not as simple to simply use the same style of shaft that are already in my irons as Callaway use parallel tipped shafts then cut 6 slits in so the shaft squashes to the shape of the tapered hosel. I have just got my hands on some tapered tip shafts, going to try them this weekend. Fingers crossed

Re: reshafting X16 pro series

Let me know how it goes with the taper tip shafts in your irons. One could cut the same slits in a set of parallel tip shafts, but that sounds like a lot of work, especially if a set of taper tip shaft will work okay. Good luck and get back to me when you can.
