pokey your right on the money except don't confuse more control with the ball going where you want it to go. Less twisting will mean the ball will go where the club face is pointing at the time you hit the ball with out the shaft closing the club face....hence if your a slicer and have a low torque shaft your still going to slice until you fix your swing.

Now that I've got that straight, did I make a mistake by going with a 2.8 torque shaft? Guess we'll find out at the range tomorrow.

Not necessarily. It depends on your swing. If you’re a slicer a low torque shaft will not help. The shaft will not close the clubface to make up for a bad swing. If you have a good swing the torque will not matter. So with a low torque shaft the ball will go where you point the clubface with out interference from the shaft. You put a good swing on the ball the ball will go where you hit it. You put a bad swing on the ball and the ball will go where you hit it. A higher torque shaft will adjust that a little bit for you.

It is like hitting a blade. A blade will not make up for a bad swing like an over sized game improvement club will. So if you practice and groove your swing the torque will not matter. If you don't work on it a low torque shaft will not help you like a higher torque shaft might.

Hopefully the lessons will help. Next one is in a week. I have to find some range time between now and then. Thanks for all the input.
