The clubhead still feels heavier, so I'm guessing it wasn't 3 full swingweights I lost by cutting the shaft down. Maybe its all mental? I do notice the shaft flexes more during a swing.

I also cut a shaft off 1" on a driver. It was ok, but I lost distance. From now on I'll play with a 45" driver and if I want control, I simply choke down 1/2 or 1", but if I need the distance, I just use the whole shaft.

I also cut down my previous driver, it was the 410 Nike Ignite with a Aldila NVS shaft. It was 45.25 I took it down to 44" I lost a little distance but not that much to notice. But the NVS shaft just wasnt working out my ball flight was a big time pop up...I recently just sold the Driver and went to a Nike Ignite 460 10.5 and I put an Aldila NV shaft in for lower ball flight cause I really have no prob getting the ball up I left this driver at 45.25 like you said I will choke down if anything. I havent got it yet but we shall see.

I also cut down my Ignite T60 3 wood 15* to 42" cause I went down a 1 1/2 on the driver so I did the same with my 3 wood.. I also put a Aldila NVS shaft in it reg flex... And this club rocks now I cant hit this thing bad if I tried it feels perfect.. I just went to the range today and couldnt hit anything else but this 3 wood I was just lauching the ball straight everytime and carrying it 225-230yds which is great for me cause ,that's usually my carry with my driver ..
