Oops, my bad. Now I look stupid. I stated Callway since I jad just finished talking to their customer service to trade my regular flex Steelhead for a firm flex Steelhead. But hey, give them a call anyway, they've always been great to work with.

no yer r5 is not a defect. my friend had the exact same thing happen to him, when he bought it the plate was normal and silver but in the process of playing it came off somehow. he called TM and they said that if he sent it in the would send him a whole new r5.

Im in the process of shopping around for an R5 right now, and I have seen quite a few badges like yours at reputable shops (Roger Dunn, Golfsmith, etc etc.) I dont know what makes them yellow, cant help you there, but ther are others out there like your club, I doubt its a defect.

yea i talked to the seller of ebay about it and he said to send it in and he'll swap it for me....so im getting a brand new one kinda feel bad though...i had some sky marks after playing with it 3 times! =X but hey...its nothing to him since TaylorMade is sending a new one to him also..woohoo!

I have never seen a R5 do that. Maybe just a bad insert and nothing to worry about. TM should be able to answer any questions that you may have.
