Ping G2 Shafts

Thanks to everyone, I've decided to avoid the clone. However, Ping offers three shafts with the G2 driver, its own (I believe it's a TPC 100 ), NV, and Grafalloy Blue Pro Launch. I think I can handle the R flex, but does anyone know what effect each of the three shafts would have on my distance, direction, and trajectory? My swing speed is in the low eighties.

Thanks

Did you demo the others, or were you fitted to the 10* NV? Are you using stiff or regular? I'm told the NV has a lower launch angle than the TEC, with my swing speed would that give me more or less distance? Where does the Grafalloy Pro Launch fit into all of this?
Thanks.

I currently use the Aldila NV shaft in my driver. It is a lower trajectory shaft. Since your swing speed is in the 80's, I would rather go with the NVS which has a higher launch than the NV. The Graffaloy Pro Launch is supposed to be a high launch shaft and I know nothing about the TEC.

After watching the women on the LPGA Tour hit their drives, I am now a firm believer that a high launching drive results in optimum distance.

You cant beat a pro launch for getting it in the air. It depends what shots you want to hit. I'd say the NV if you want too shape the ball but if you just want to hit it straightish and high go the Pro Launch. I'm thinking about gettin the prolaunch in my 14' G2, it has the std it in now and its not bad shaft for a factory one

I have been told that the G2 stock shaft is a high trajectory ,that the graphalloy is mid-hi, and the NVS is a low trajectory.

Aldila NVS shaft is a high trajectory.. I have it in my Nike Ignite, and i am looking to swap it out. The Aldila NV is a mid trajectory shaft. The Graffaloy Pro-Launch ia also a high trajectory I demoed it and hated it... It just felt dead.. Thats what made me get the Aldila NVS but now that I am hitting my driver better the trajectory is too high. So I am going with the Aldila NV which ia a low-mid trajectory tried it the other day it was perfect for me, but I dont have trouble getting the ball airbourne. The graffaloy blue is also a mid launch shaft. Just try them and see which one feels the best good luck.

I've hit G2 in both the prolaunch and NV. I'm not a fan of NV - it's tip stiff and I prefer a little more action/feel. As mentioned NV will launch lower but it will feel a little stiffer as well.

if you are really going to hit this head (G2), then by all means try the NV........it has a good feel to it, but won't feel wimpy when you want to go after the ball.
be aware though, the NV likes at least a 90 mph swingspeed, but will still do well at slightly lower.............get your speed up to 95 for the regular and watch out!! it's an animal.
i hit my G2 with NV65R and when i really punch it on the sweet spot, i see about 240 carry...........then a roll like you wouldn't believe.........woohoo!!

Went to the D range with the G2 today

I just got the ping g2 today from my golf course in a 10 degree. I have the NV regular in it. Im going to tell you, that shaft works. The shaft plays a stiff tip so its generally going to keep the ball low. I didnt find this at all with the 10 degree head. The club launched at a mid to high trajectory. I was even hitting off low rubber driving range tees. Not to mention the balls were about as ****as they can get. I did happen to sneak a Pro v 1 into the bunch and launched that one perfect. Id say the NV is a good choice for the G2. If your going to go with the 8.5 degree head. Id suggest putting the NVS in.

I guess I have about the same swingspeed as you have. Have not tried the NV, but what I have read our swingspeed is to low for that shaft. I guess the TPC 100 is better. Pro Launch is also for higer swingspeeds. Look at http://www.golfsmith.com/shaft_selector.php

I have the prolaunch reg and it is great. I get more trajectory than my old shaft which allows more carry, which equals more distance.
