Club Sizing

I have a simple question for you guys. My irons are cut down a half inch and are -2 flat. My driver is cut down an inch so it is 44in. I just recently purchased my v-steel 3 wood and my two rescues and i was wondering if i should cut them down 1 inch like my driver or a half inch like my irons. Any input would be great thank you.

Hello Nick Casab! Welcome to Golf Rewind. How are you hitting these new clubs at that length?

Did you not get fitted for your clubs when you bought them?

I'm not the guy to ask about that but I'm sure there's someone here that will be able to help you.

I cut down my driver as well 44' the club fitter suggested that I cut my 3 wood to 42". He said if you cut an inch on your driver you should do the same with the 3 wood to keep the same as it was stock basically you want to keep an inch to a inch and a half of gap between your driver and 3 wood. I tell you what I could not hit my 3 wood at all.. I have a Nike Ignite T60 3 wood 19* it was 43.5 so I cut it down to 42" and I put a Aldila NVS 55gr Reg shaft in it.. And now I cant hit it bad if I try... I love this club I hit straight and my carry is 220yd-230yds consistently. I belive the combo of cutting it down and shaft did a world of good for me. The Hybrids I would not cut they should be about 39.5 to 40" depending on which hybrid you did get and thats fine.. i wouldn't go shorter than that..

Thanks for all the feadback im gona cut my 3 wood to 42 also. I have a NV 55 shaft in my driver and i love it but just curious why did you go with the NVS in your 3 wood instead of the NV.

Well I couldnt get the ball up for some reason with my 3 wood, I also was slicing it bad so I went with the NVS for the higher ball flight and for the added torque in the NVS 4.4 compared to the NV 3.9 to help me close the club face. I made the mistake of putting the NVS shaft in my previous Driver Nike Ignite 410cc 10.5.. I didnt have a problem getting the ball up with my driver just with the 3 wood... So with my Driver and the NVS my ball flight was horrible big time pop ups lossing distance... So I got rid off the 410cc Ignite and I just got a Nike Ignite 460cc 10.5 for a little more forgivness and I put the Aldila NV 65 in it for the lower ball flight I havent got it yet but i demoed that shaft and I liked the ball flight alot better than the NVS.. I guess the the NVS just worked out well with my 3 wood.. But yeah I would cut down the 3 wood to 42' i wouldnt go any less.. Just wondering how tall are you and whats you swing speed. I am 5 9' and My swing speed is 90mph.
