Driver 9.5* or 10.5*

Here is my question I recently switched drivers. I was using the Ignite 410cc 10.5 with a Aldila NVS shaft Reg flex. I worked on my swing with lessons started finally hitting my driver sort of well..

The problem was my ball flight with this combo was way to high big time pop ups.. So I tried my buddies driver which is a 460cc and liked the bigger head felt it was way more forgiving than my 410cc, I also demoed a cleveland launcher with a Adila NV shaft in it didnt like the driver but liked the shaft the ball flight was lower..
So I decided to get a new driver I went with the Ignite 460cc 10.5 with the Adlila NV shaft , I am just wondering if before with my 410cc 10.5 that my ball flight was so high maybe I should switch up to a 9.5 and the Adlila NV shaft for lower trajectory should do it. I ordered the driver but its not to late to switch to a 9.5 but i have never demoed a 9.5* so just wondering what you guys think. Is there a big difference between the 10.5* and the 9.5*. I just want my ball flight to be lower than it was with my old driver cause I was lossing distance so I now the shaft will help but should I go 9.5* aswell?

I have a 9.5 and I have never had a hard time hitting it too high. The NV will hit it lower as well and it you are a hi ball hitter 9.5 and the NV will be a good combo. I have found it easier to hit a ball high when I needed to then to hit a ball low when I needed to.

I have a 10 degree

I have a 10 degree ping g2 with the aldila nv-regular in it. I launch the ball typically high with it to. I would say that a good set up for a mid to high launch would be a 10 degree or a 10.5 degree with a NV in it, or a 9.5 degree with a nvs which launches the ball higher than the NV.

NV is a pretty low launch shaft so 10.5 would most likely be okay if that's what you normally play. BTW, how high is your launch angle with current setup. With my old driver/shaft I used to launch it 16-18 deg which was not ideal for my swing speed.

The G2 is designed as a launch driver I think but I do agree with you. your better off going with the 10.5 as its cheaper to change the shaft (if you like the head) to lower the ball flight than it is keep changing heads.

I'm pretty sure Ignite is a high launch driver as well esp the 460. For my next driver, I'm going to get a 10 deg(G2) or 10.5 deg(Comp) as they are more forgiving than 9.5.

What exactly is a "launch driver?" I've never heard this term before.

I dont know what degree's but my ball flight with my 410cc 10.5 and the Aldila NVS 55gr reg flex was just way to high like a big pop up I felt that was was loosing distance and getting no roll with that setup. So thats why I swithced to the 460cc 10.5 with the Aldila NV reg flex. I was gonna go with the 9.5 but ended up getting the 10.5 I dont think the one degree in loft will male a huge difference in ball flight..

The kick point in the shaft will determine your launch angle as much or more than anything else. High kickpoint and a stiff tip in a shaft will lower you launch angle dramatically, unless you have a major swing flaw.
