I was out on the course today for the first time in awhile. The forecast was for rain (it had rained yesterday) but the sun was out so I took a chance. The first 4 holes were fine- the course had drained reasonably well. The only thing was a pretty stout head wind on some of the holes. Well, I get to hole 5 and I start to notice that it's drizzling a bit and a pretty good headwind is picking up. I decide to hit my driver with the ball teed up real low in order to hit a low shot. So I placed the ball with only about a 1/4 of it showing above the crown of my driver. As I wound up to hit, the wind suddenly kicked up and some huge droplets flew right onto my glasses. Well that messed up everything and I could barely see the ball and I hit my driver fat into the ground and popped the ball straight into the air. After wiping the moisture from my glasses, I noticed a huge (more than half width of the golf ball) scratch mark on my crown . I've taken so well of my driver up to now. Is there anything that can be done? I just hate to look at it at address. Keeps reminding me of that popup.
I got a mark on my brand new Cleveland driver after 2 days I had just bought it .
So then I didn't know what to do, so i got this wire brush that I use to clean my clubs - BAD IDEA! I ended up turning the little mark into this huge massive black and white scratch
Just don't do what I did and you'll be fine lol!

noobie you may want to try the following it may save you some time on sending the club back to the manufacture. Go to a Wal-Mart or a Auto parts Store and purchased a product called "Scratch Out" it made by a company called Kit. This product is for removing scratches from the clear coat of cars, I have used it to remove scratches on my clubs, it may not remove the sky mark you have it all depends on how how bad the mark is. I would say that it is at least worth a try. Good luck and hope this helps.
I used the same approach as Halk. The automotive scratch remover will work to a point. Anything minor it will take care of, if it is more than that I would go with the Golfsmith refinishing idea. Good luck.
Regardless of what you use.....the sky mark ain't goin' away completely. If you can live with a faint reminder then try the automotive scratch remover. If you can't, send your club back to the manufacturer's club repair department and for a bout $25.00 you'll get your club back (normally within a week or so) looking like brand new.
For a quick repair on a painted head without sending it out to be completely refinished, go to your local Wal-Mart or Auto Parts Store and find some touch-up paint that will match the color. This can usually then be buffed and will blend nicely with the rest. Keep in mind, most heads are clearcoated and sometimes if you can find an acrylic clear spray you can end up blending those marks back in if the paint wasn't scratched.
