Help and Suggestions

Hey everyone - I am currently debating what shafts to get for my driver/woods. I am looking purely at the 9 deg Mizuno MP001 Driver and Strong 3 wood (13.5 deg) and 5 wood (18 deg) so I get a nice 4.5 deg between each club.
Problem I have is living in NZ you don't get the chance to try the different shafts etc that you do in the US. I play off about a 16 at the moment and either hit slight fades/draws with my current TM 420 Burner driver or I hit slices. My 3 and 5 woods are either fades or slices off the tee or slight draws off the deck (using V Steel 3 and 5 wood). All clubs have stock shafts in them at the moment.

I swing at around 100mph and so am using a stiff shaft. I do have quite a high ball flight and I feel that this probably minimises my roll at times.

I was considering Grafalloy Prolite 35 stiff in the driver to get a lower ball flight (higher kickpoint) and either Grafalloy blue stiff in the 3 and 5 wood or maybe even a combo of a grafalloy prolaunch 65 in the 3 wood and a grafalloy blue in the 5 wood

Can you make some suggestions on shafts and maybe even on whether some should be xstiff rather than stiff?

Thanks

At 100mph swing you are a stiff depending on which shaft you go with will dictate the Xstiff or stiff depends on there spec you know. But I would say your a stiff. If you want to get your ball flight down I wouldn't go with the pro-launch that has a high trajectory, I would go with the Grafalloy Blue or Aldila NV which has a lower trajectory and also plays a little stiffer than the Grafalloy. If your looking for a really lite shaft than go with the prolite they offer alot of different torque ratings and flexes.. If you slice the ball I would go with a higher torque rating to help close the face a bit. Thats what i did I got the Aldila NVS which has 4.4 torque but it has a high ball flight. I put it in my 3 wood and I am very happy with it. I am a reg flex swing speed is 90mph I just like Aldila shafts better cause they fell a bit stiffer and I just like my trajectory better than the Grafalloy. But if you want to go with Grafalloy I would look into there Xstiff, if you go with Aldila I would go with a stiff.. But with out trying them its very hard to tell.. Hope this helped

At 100 mph I doubt you would want x-stiff. Most x-stiff are rated for min 105 mph. I'd say you might even want to try a regular if you have a smooth swing. My driver swing is about 100 mph and I use in between regular and stiff. Alot of people believe that if you have a smooth transition at the top of your swing than going down a flex rather than up is a good choice. Conversely, if you transition fast and load your shaft with a lot of stress than going up to stiff might be a good choice.
