Good Shaft for a slow swing speed?

I was recently fitted in a shop and the man told me I needed a lighter flex. I was wondering if anyone on these boards had a low swing speed (85-90) and if there are any shafts that are suggested for a low swing speed. Callaway is putting the light flex graphite on my driver as we speak, but from what I have been hearing the stock shafts are not the best. Thanks for the help.

I personally like the Harrison series of shafts, I have been playing them on my clubs for a long time, they have a lifetime warranty on their shafts.

Try the Striper series

I was just playing vert golf last night &
My buddy has the same driver as me but with a way lighter shaft. I would routinely get a way faster club head speed & ball speed with his driver compared to mine! My driver it was 107mph club average 157 mph ball. With his it was 112mph average & 163mph ball. So the way I figure it, if you get a lighter shaft you need a stiffer one, heavier shaft you will need a softer one. Like the above poster says Harrison makes wicked shafts, you should try one out.

So for you I would say a regular flex shaft but if it is really light ie.64grams then maybe a s-flex.

Thank you

Thank you both for the advice. I will check out Harrison's site and see what they have to offer.

I think the stock reg shafts on most OEM drivers work pretty well for that swing speed. I agree that lighter the better - maybe even a 55 g shaft like a Graffaloy Prolaunch 55 (also comes in sub 50 g model) or an Aldila NV 55 or an NVS 55.

Mostly depends on the club, but for instance, I always used a Tit. 983K stiff driver, ys-6 shaft and it was fine as long as I hit the sweet spot, but now have switched to the Clev. Launcher 400, fujik. stock shaft, 55gm. reg. and it is great for my swing speed, 95-98. I tried this same club in the stiff(65mg), but I lost yardage according to the simulator and it felt a little stiff unless I hit the sweet spot square.

try maybe the grafalloy prolite 35 R flex-i swing a bit faster (95 or so mph) but have it on my 7 wood. Beautiful shaft with a low, penetrating trajectory. You probably want a regular flex with that swing speed.

Thank you everyone for your advice

I want to say thank you to everyone that responded. I went to a custom club maker and was fitted with a swing speed in the low to mid 90's. My best results were with the aldila 65-R flex shaft b/c of the weight of the fusion head. Thanks for the advice, and I love the results
