Alright here's my favorite golf memory. Unfortunately its not about me and my game, but its my favorite none the less. I was 15 at the time and me and my dad went out to play a quick nine in the afternoon at the local course. The temperature was mild and the wind was blustering from the west. I was playing a really solid round and i was like 1 over after 7 holes and i was beating my dad who was 4 over. I had been trying to beat him stroke play ever since i moved back to the white tees with him. We came up to the 8th hole, a par three around 165 yds over a pond the entire way. My dad stepped up and made pure contact with the ball. The ball rocketed right at the hole. So i did what I always did when a shot looked good,
"GO IN THE HOLE. GO IN THE HOLE." It landed on the front took two hops hit the pin and dropped in for an ace. I couldnt believe it, my dad couldnt believe it.
My dad's first ever hole in one, and boy was he due. He was 51 years old when this happened, had been playing golf ever since high school, and was the last of his brothers (who were also golf-a-holics) to get an ace. We did a round of high fives on the tee box and finished up our round. Unfortunatly he beat me once again thanks to his first hole in one (what do I got to do to beat this guy) but i didnt care. I was glad i got to be witness to my dad's first hole in one.
my best golf memory is helping my nephew hit a golf club for the first time he had seen me hit golf clubs before and was very interested so i went out and baught him a little club and me and him practice together like 3-4 times a week. Its so cool watching him progress.
I was playing a little course in Tempe, AZ called Rolling Hills with some friends from grad school, and my friend Jen was teeing off. Well, she took a mighty swing and the ball dribbled off the tee for an amazing 1-foot drive. I couldn't help it. I yelled, "FORE!" It was totally spontaneous and we all doubled over in laughter. I have hit some shots that are memorable (not nearly enough of course), but that has to be my favorite memory on the course.
Not quite sure if this is my favourite or not, but it's definitely my most memorable. First hole at my old home course about 8 years ago, I'm playing a casual round, so I try for the green(300 yard hole if you cut over the short trees), I painfully duff, hit he rock for the ladies tee, my ball goes backwards behind the teebox OB. So I tee up again, hit a painful sky about 50 yards in the trees. It ends up under a tree where it's unhittable, so I take a drop, and I'm hitting 5 from the rough, I yank out the 7 wood I believe it was, and crank one perfectly towards the green. So I walk to the green, and the ball isn't one it, so I look around, and it isn't surrounding the green either. There was a group on the next tee box, and I ask them if they've seen a ball, and they said "yes, one rolled into the cup as we were getting off the green".
So I hit the greatest shot of my life, for what? A bogey on an easy par 4. Go figure.
And now that I think about it, my favourite golf memory would have to be shooting 34 on my par 35 home course, including my first eagle. Just too bad it was too late to play another 9 that day. I ended up playing the next day and shooting a 37 for a 1 over 70.
