I will have to make an effort tomorrow to go break in the new wonder club and let you know how it works.

Thanks for the fast build and shipment!
Sweet.... Hope you enjoy the club as much as I did over the long weekend.

Well, I went to the range Thursday night to try out the new SW. After hitting several range rocks, I wasn't too happy, to be honest. Every hit seemed to rattle my hands if I went for a full swing. A few short shots were ok.

But I knew better than to judge a club by only hitting range balls! I went over to the little sand trap and "green" to see how well it played from the sand, using my usual Loco and Noodle balls. Big difference in feel! I do have to readjust my technique for sand shots, as using my previous SW (which has a large bounce) has ingrained some bad habits.

The real test was yesterday, when I played a full round and used it from the fairway, rough, and around the green. The course we played is quite "hilly", with several elevated greens and large mounds. The wedge worked beautifully for the few times I had to hit over a mound a land it soft on the green. I only sculled it once, trying to play it from a hard bare spot from about 90 yards out, hitting to a green about 30 feet higher than where I was standing. Ended up flying it over the green, landing 20yards past and 10-12feet below the level of the green, in grass about 3 inches high. Pin was cut to the back side, so I only had about 10 feet of green to work with, and 8 feet past the pin the green sloped downhill. Well, I popped that ball up there, landed it right on edge of the green, and rolled it about 4 feet past the pin! One of the best shots of the day. My friend was quite impressed! So was I! Yes, I sank the putt to make bogey 5.

I made several nice chips, 2 decent "sand saves", and was quite pleased with the club in actual play. Still haven't got a feel for what the "full swing" distance is yet, but it's great to have another wedge I can play with confidence!

Thanks, CGS!

It took me awhile to get the hang of the grind bottom but once you do it adds more touch to your wedge game around the greens. Keep me updated on how its working out for you.

The True Blue has a slightly smaller face in height but longer from heel to toe with alittle thinner sole for less bounce.

does less bounce equal more roll? I am mainly interested in using a lob wedge for around the green to chip over a bunker and stop it on a dime from about 20-40 yards.

since no one will answer your question, i will. less bounce is the angle that the bottom of the club is set at. the more bounce, less chance of digging into the ground, the less bounce the easier it is to get the club under the ball, but also, easier to dig in the ground (fat shot) less bounce allows you to lay the club back to open the face when needed and not scull the ball as easy because the edge is closer to the ground. this does not have anything at all to do with roll.
my suggestion is a wedge with 8* to 12* of bounce. mine are all 8*nd i play at 13 hncp.
