I never had the 983 - went from a Burner Ti Tour to a 905T - don't regret it one bit.

i had the 983 before it got stolen, which is why i got the new 905 to begin with. to be honest i couldn't hit the 983 all that well but the 905 is a whole different story. much more forgiving and longer by about 10 yards.

Did you have the right 983 to fit your game, or do you think it may not have matched your game and this time around the 905 you have does?

that's a good question and i'm not entirely sure. with the 983 i had a grafalloy prolite and i didn't get great results. i now have a different setup with the 905 and i guess it just suits me a whole lot better. i guess it also has to do with improvements in my game but whatever it is i'm finding the 905 a lot easier to hit than the 983

That ProLite's a tough shaft to hit, perhaps that was a bit of the reason I'd have to think...I know it's one of their popular shafts, but to tell you the truth, I don't know of many who talk about it on the boards or even know anyone playing it...Go figure!

I played the Red ProLite in my 983K and liked it OK. I had an 8.5* one, and honestly hit it about the same distance as my R5 9.5* with Speeder 757. I didn't feel like it was a bad shaft at all.

Purchased this driver a couple weeks ago, 905T 10.5 degree with YS6+ Regular. Previous driver was a 975J 9.5 degree with Proforce XL R. The 905T is a much more forgiving driver than the 975. Distance wise the two drivers seem to be the same so far but they feel different altogether. The 975 with the Proforce shaft feels much heavier in the head so I tend to be able to go after the ball a little more with it. The 905, lighter in the head so I have to make normal swings and have good results. I get about the same distance swinging controlled with the 905 as I do hard with the 975. On off center hits is where the real difference comes into play with the 905 being much more forgiving. Even bad hits are left or right controlled with distance being your only sacrifice. This driver is also fairly easy to turn left or right, and its not so big that it feels like a shoe like many of the 460cc drivers. So far I like the YS6+ shaft also, although the lighter feel of the head took a little time to get use to. Overall, I find this a very easy driver to hit and control. Distance is fine also.

I just got a 905T 9.5 with a NVS 65 Shaft on it. Changed from a 975J and I'm hitting the ball a lot longer and more balls are staying down the middle.

A fabulous club, one that'll stay in my bag for a good few years.

I currently use the 983K and had a swish with the 905T this weekend - will definitely be changing soon. The 905 seemed to sit better behind the ball.

I absolutely LOVE this driver! Mine is the "T" model, (10.5º, Aldila NV-65 Stiff). Hit it for the 1st time yesterday on the course......with no range time prior.....and hit 4 of 4 fairways in the 9 holes we played!
I've owned many Titleist drivers (976R, 975D, 975J-VS, 983E and K) and this one carries on their tradition of quality, classic good looks and performance! It's a little more forgiving than the 983K (8.5º/ProLite Stiff) and definately longer! 10.5º works perfectly with the NV shaft. By the way, it sounds AWESOME at impact!

My 905t with the NV 65-S arrived today. I am heading to the range to give her a workout.

I play the 905T 7.5 with a Fujikura X-Stiff shaft. I just love the overall weight and feel of this golf club. Oh yeah, it's pretty long also. The size of the head is perfect, not too big, yet big enough to be very forgiving. It's a very profesional looking club and I love the look at address. I never hit the 983 series, but I know this has to be Titleist best series to date...

I just made the switch from my 983K to a 905T with a aldila nvs-65 shaft. I can't wait for the weather to get better here so I can hit the links...but I am enjoying smashing the ball at the range so far.

Two rounds played and the result is awesome. Long and straight. I have a slight fade with this club. I'll have this in my bag for a while. 905T 10.5* NV-65 S.

I tried a 10.5 905t with YS6 regular and did not like it, I hit it too high (which is odd for me as my other drivers are 11 and 12 degree - had to be the light regular shaft). Anyway, I just got a deal on a 9.9/10 9.5 905s with stiff speeder ($150).

The shaft is closer in spec to my other driver shafts (Innovex CfD 12 degree NV75s and SMt O2 11 degree VS O2) at least in terms of weight so we'll see if I can make it work.

I hit my 12 degree CfD well with a nice high draw but I fight a hook with it and think the 1 degree closed face is the culprit. I am hoping the 905s will help me straighten out - even if I lose some carry.

I previously had a 8.5 983k but it had the wrong shaft for me (Pro Lite X flex) that only worked well if I really went after it and did everything perfectly (read not often).
