i kind of like the size of the clubhead. i tend to think it is a lighter weight clubhead. am i wrong? for you 95-110ss guys hitting a sasquatch, how many more degrees in loft did you drop in comparison with your previous driver? If you hit a 10.5 TM, would you hit a 9.5 SQ? Thanks!
I was using a 10.5 Ignite before I switched to the SQ. I'm still using 10.5, but I upgraded to a NV stiff shaft which keeps the ball flight a little lower. I like the combination, I get good loft and I can hit a low one when I need to, but I think if you are going to keep the OEM shaft, you would probably want to go with the 9.5. Just my opinion.
I swing right at 105. I was playing an R5 Dual D 10.5* with a Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 stiff shaft before. I dropped to a 9.5* Sasquatch with stiff shaft. This feels much smoother to me. Trajectory is a little lower, but I get more carry and roll with it. Old Driver would balloon on me. My Sasquatch gets up, levels off and seems to go forever. I don't miss left and right with it as much. I prefer the longer face of the Sasquatch vs. the deeper face of the TM. My mishits are more heel-toe then up-down. So, this driver is more forgiving for me. I demoed the R7 425, the R7 460, the Callaway Fusion and 460, and a G5. I hit all of these pretty well. But, the Sasquatch was heads above the others for me. Ball speed was increased 5-10 mph over the other clubs, lauch angle was better and I hit it much straighter. I had my mind made up that I was going to buy a new TM or Callaway to take advantage of their club giveaway. But no matter how much I wanted to hit these welll, I hit the Nike better. I feel like I'm swinging at about 80% now and getting more distance than before. I know my results will vary from yours. But I'm extremely happy with my decision.
I have a 9.5 degree (non-tour) with an aldila NV75 stiff shaft. I am coming from a titleist 983k 9.5 deg with stiff YS-6.
Anyhow, the sasquatch does seem miles more forgiving. I can slash away and even the horrid shots go a sensible distance. However, I debate whether the ultimate length is any greater (although the mean almost certainly is). In fact I am inclined to think the SQ might be a bit shorter for me. It spins alot for me so tends to get almost no run. It does have the most incredible hang time i have ever seen... the ball just stays up forever!
One concern is that i actually manage to get some big pull/hooks. With the 983k, i might pull the ball, but it stays where it starts. The SQ combo can tend to go straight and the dart miles left. I am wondering whether this is the shaft... the stiff in the 983k may well have been stiffer due to the bore-tru design... thoughts?
Overall I am pleased, I can feel a bit of work and this will be a very consistent club. However I am still thinking of how I can get the ball to spin less. The only club I have which I can hit low (as in low spin) is an old taylor made burner bubble with a tour stiff shaft (which i believe is probably too stiff) and incidentally it is the longest club I own for a good hit.
I tried the club out of curiosity, and I found that I didn't like it that much as any of the drivers that I've had. I hit it 10-20 yards shorter than my R580XD, and the feeling when I hit it was not good, and their was no asthetic appeal to me. I hit it a touch straighter, but there was no way I could consider buying this.
This is the first name-brand driver I've ever owned, and I absolutely love it. The forgiveness is great, especially for someone like me with limited experience. I haven't tried the new Taylormade drivers that are getting great reviews, but I can't imagine hitting a driver much better than this Nike. I don't see any need to trade "up" any time soon.
Cut and paste from my own review on the Golf Review...
Model Reviewed:
Nike SasQuatch Tour 9.5* w/Fujikura Speeder 553 Tour Spec R
Summary:
I was looking for a mid trajectory and low spin driver after playing one year of my Cleveland Launcher 460 9.5* driver which often times balooned and caused too much backspins for my swing. Was reading many reviews here and there on SQ Tour driver, heard the less spin from the SQ Tour from some reviewers. Was search for a low spin and mid ball flight shaft as well.
Then one day came across the SQ Tour 9.5* with Speeder 553 Tour Spec R on the web auction, I decided to bid it and won that item. After some night sessions at my local range, found it really brought down the ball flight but couldn't tell the rolls after carry.
Played one round of golf last weekend, I like what I saw, more rolls after carry than my old Launcher 460. I'll say at least 10 yards more roll. SQ Tour has lesser spins, Speeder 553 helps lower spins and bringing down ball flight as well! Glad what happend last weekend at one of my home course.
Alright guys sorry for the delay but the review is here:
Nike Sasquatch is a club amongst clubs. I wanted to stay away from the Nike line because I got tired of the jokes that my entire bag is nike except for my putter, but as fate turns out I couldnt change the set-up. I went to the range yesterday and I was hitting some balls for warmup until I got to this monster.
IT IS MONSTER IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. I have never crushed balls so far before and honestly this might sound like the usual review I saw a decent improvement in ball flight. Im using the Fuji 26.3 Tour platform shaft Stiff flex. When you make contact on this sucker I hit nice baby-fades that were averaging atleast 250-270. The occasional pull but those were swing faults more than the club.
The color, is something that takes getting used to. Nobody likes the grey stripe and **** im not a fan either but jesus man, it really does have something to do with the power. I mean I was hitting the Ignite like 230 and I dont ever believe someone saying they can gain 20 yds due to a club. This is something that I had to witness first hand before I believed it and well the proof is there.
At the end of the day this club is staying in my until the yellow comes off the club (heh wait thats a good thing ).
If youve ever thought of buying one atleast demo it you might be pretty suprised with what Nike is doing in terms of Technology.
This driver is AWESOME! my old favorite was a Kasco k2k 11 deg. driver. the shaft broke, and i could never find something that was as easy to hit. when i first saw the nike SQ, i thought it looked very ugly to be honest. Too BIG i thought. since i bought it, it reminds me of the shallow face of the kasco. i have found a driver that flies pretty straight and long! itis almost as long as my current club, a Titleist 905T 10.5 deg w/Aldila NV 65 stiff flex. the shaft that i hit is the stock sasquatch stiff flex that feels a little too loose during the hit. i am re-shafting right now with a diamana TP 83 stiff flex. i'll post a review once i take it for a test drive. unfortunately it is getting quite cold, so i won't be able to give a proper review until it gets warmer.
the r7 460 has a greater advantages over the sq and it will be bigger than the sq will ever be doesent say tiger woods likes it he has to use it to get his sponship money owt ov nike why would they have to go square 4 if thats the case but it true if i had a SQ i would change to the r7 460 or the 425.

I'm sorry, but I can't hardly read anything you just wrote. I'm not trying to be mean, but it is kind of hard to take a review seriously when you can't really understand what's being said.

I agree... no punctuation marks makes it hard to follow... sorry.

yeah, besides the lousy typing, many people know that Tiger has a clause in his contract saying he does not have to use Nike clubs, if he feels that another club is better for him.
