Ill preface this by saying that I am a high handicap golfer. Ive always struggled to hit my driver, mainly due to inconsistent swinging and not enough practice. I am a sure slice into the right tree line on 50 % of my drives. SO, take what I say with a grain of salt.
I hit a plethora of drivers trying not to find the longest distance, or best sound, but mainly what felt very comfortable, and seemed to give me the best accuracy considering my problems above. I swung the Cobra speed series, Taylor Made R7 and R580, Cleveland Hi-Bore, and Hi-Bore XL, Nike SQ, and the Mizuno MX-500. After swinging them all it came down to the Hi-Bore and the Mizuno. The Cleveland felt very comfortable, but I hit straighter, more consistently with the Mizuno, so the choice was made. I purchased the regular flex Exar shafted driver, and got regripped with a fatter tour velvet.
For me, the Mizuno was the easiest to hit of all the clubs. With some of the others I would hit heel or slightly toe, and with the Mizuno the shots always seemed to be in the exact same spot. Distance seemed to be on par with the others, although a better striker could tell you more about the distance capability of the stick.
All in all I'm pleased, and will update after I get some more time on the range and course to practice and tweak.
Great club, although a little pricey still if your paying retail.
