I've been playing a 8.5* R7 tp with a UST Proforce2 X-flex for the past two months and it has without a doubt improved my distance off the tee. I played a titleist 983k prior to the TM, and i loved the titleist, but it was no where near as long as the tm.. I hit the TM ON AVERAGE about 300-310yds consistently and accurately. its not the newer "425" version, but i'm am very pleased with the performance of the club.. a little pricey if you pay retail, but best believe i didnt pay retail...
Thinkin about gettin one of these this summer since you can get them for around 500 now. Also considering the r5 tp, anyone got any comments on any of these? I actually heard the mishits on the TP's still went straight, i figured they would be much less forgiving.
Don't waste your money on the 425, I traded my old R7tp, 9.5, fuji speeder 757 for it's 425 big brother. I didn't notice a difference. In some ways I like the feel of the old club better. The "improved" technology is not worth the 600 bucks it cost me to upgrade. This is a solid club...just wished I had stayed with the old model.
the original r7 tp is where its at... and yes, the mishits do go straight... granted the setup that i am swinging is not stock at all, it set up to tour specs;ie- ust X-flex shaft- but this is the best driver i've ever hit distance and accuracy wise... i have hit drivers that are longer-cobra- but they deften me when i hit it... not pleasant at all.. go back to the original r7 tp... this time get the 8.5*, you will be happy with the ball flight.. peace out

I just bought the R5 TP. Pretty solid club. My TP version has a diamana 83 blue board shaft. I used to have the R7 HT. The R5 TP has a slightly larger head and sets up very nice at address. The feel at impact is very similar. I didn't think it was any more or less forgiving than the R7. Its all in the shaft anyway but a nice club.
