425 is a great driver, I've got the tp with the rombax shaft. Not that much different than the old r7 tp for my money....having said that it's probably the most solid driver I've hit. Swing speed 110, 9.5 loft, 75 gram stiff shaft trajectory is medium/high with neutral weight settings.

425TP is sweet...recently traded in my Ignite 460 10.5 w/ NV65 on the 425TP with a V2 65g X-Stiff. The price put a SERIOUS dent in my wallet but if you are extremely serious about your game and you are a low handicapper who can actually take advantage of this driver, then it's worth it IMO. I used to think my Ignite was long, Now I am averaging 10 yards more and I'm hitting 2-3 more fairways a round. I have the weights at low neutral as of now and my trajectory is medium-high.

Thanks to the person who made this thread as I recently purchased a TP earlier today. Now I have to wait for it to come in. Got a 65 Rombax Stiff, 9.5. Probably going to set it up for a high draw. How is it for a 7-8 handicapper because I have a friend that's looking into one.

You won't be disappointed! I'm sure that your friend will hit yours and he'll get one soon enough. I bought one a week ago and after finding the correct weight configuration I really love mine. I have the 8.5* with a 75 Rombax stiff in mine. Probably not much difference between mine and yours though.

I had been hitting the 510TP up until now and I can honestly say that this club is an improvement over the 510TP. Hard to believe, but true IMO. Good luck with it. You'll really enjoy it Simp

Re: TaylorMade R7 TP and 425 TP Driver Review

I use the 425 and I really like the customizability that comes with the weights. Probably one of the most solid drivers that I have experienced. The adjustable weights really helped my slice by moving a bunch of weight to the inside. I use a rombax stiff flex shaft.

Re: TaylorMade R7 TP and 425 TP Driver Review

one word... money! I was choosing between a ft-3 and 425, my friends have both. So i used them side by side.. and i definatly went with the 425, straight and long, while the ft-3 could go anywhere. The 425 is not a club from heaven or anything. If you put a bad swing on it, it will tell you. I like the 425cc's better than the big old 460cc's. Alltogether great driver
