Thought I strt a thread about the new 905R, just got mine and played one round so far.
Ordered it at a demo day after hitting it on a launch monitor and comparing it to my Ping G2. I ended up getting a 10.5* with a Grafalloy Pro Launch 65R. My Ping is 10* and has an Aldila NV 65S.
Results from the launch monitor showed much better results with the 905R than my Ping OR the 905R with a NV 65S in it. High, long, and straight.
Confirmed yesterday it is longer than the G2. I think it has as much to do with the shaft as the head. The Pro Launch R has a lot more kick than the NV S. I have to swing pretty hard to load the NV. I have to be a little careful to not overswing with the Pro Launch, no need to, just put a good swing on it and it does the work.
The head seems to be very forgiving, miss hits still flew far. I was even getting good results when I put a little fade on it which usually would result in a fair amount of distance loss for me. Only got really wild with it on 3 holes out of 13 attempts and hit 7 fairways. I expect this to improve as I dial in my tempo to get the best results.
The club looks great at address, nice square setup and a pleasing shape. The feel is also excellent, much more solid feeling than the Ping. I have to be careful not to tee it too high as the face is shallower than the Ping and most other current drivers.
So far I'm very pleased, I expect the results to get even better as I dial it in over the next few rounds.
I tried out one for the 2nd time last week (9.5*, Grafalloy Blue stiff). Great driver. Forgiving, long, STRAIGHT!
Despite the fact rockbottomgolf has 'em for $189 right now, I still haven't bought one. I just can't convince myself to add one to the bag.
*EDIT*
If someone has one in 8.5* with the Grafalloy Blue stiff shaft they'd like to sell for a reasonable price, that's in good shape, I might be interested. PM me.

I just got one this week and so far I am enjoying hitting it. It is a very solid driver. I have owned several Titleist drivers in the past and all of them were great drivers.
Some of you know I went ahead and bought a 905R last week. After 1 round, and 2 trips to the range... It hasn't replaced that $17.95 Northwestern driver in the bag.
Specs:
9.5* w/ Grafalloy Blue in stiff flex, stock grip, standard length
It's right there with the Northwestern all the way around. It'll hit the ball roughly the same distance. It's about as forgiving. The only real plus to this driver is that it says Titleist on it.
Don't take that wrong. It is a fantastic driver. I just can't tell that it does anything better than the Northwestern that's been in my bag for the last few months. It did, however, cost considerably more.
Maybe if I weren't so darned happy with the driver I already had, it would be in the bag permanently. It would've definitely knocked my old R580XD out of the bag, but it got beat to the punch on that one.
I'm going to go ahead and play another round or two before I decide for sure, but this one may wind up for sell soon. Those of you here will get first crack at it if I decide to let it go.
After another round, the 905R may have earned it's way into the bag to stay. Maybe it's a matter of me having more confidence in the club now, because it's longer than the Northwestern Pro Plus 10, and just as straight. Or maybe it's just because of temps over 100*. Whichever one it is, the high draw is seriously long with the Titleist.
one of the best drivers ive ever hit. and by far the most consistent.
i was averaging around 260-270 with my mizuno mx-500 and now im about 280 and i occasionally put one out past 300. with this club i drove OVER a 331 yard par 4. awesome!
I had the R last year and I tried two other drivers this season. I was on the verge of getting the 907D2, bit I went back to the 905S. I think I might suffer a little on forgiveness, but it's just so easy to hit draws and the 905S helps keep my ball flight down under control.
905r is a fantastic driver...of course I have one!!!
Seriously though, it is a sweet piece of equipment, and with the right shaft you will have a point and shoot weapon in your hands...I had a cobra fspeed which I got rid of because the closed face was putting me off....this driver is every bit as long as the cobra and much more accurate...love this club...
I have a 905 R w/ NV- 65 R in my bag! This driver has a lighter feel than most drivers I have used in the past. I feel more in control than it controlling me. I don't have a fast swing and my friends jaw drops when I get distance further than his 460cc. Its so cool to hear someone say... Nice shot!!! This Titleist 905 R compliments me and will always be in my bag for life...
My 905R is a solid performer when it comes to hitting fairways. The Proforce v2 76 S flex is a decent shaft ,but my ball flight still seems a bit too high. Launch angle is at 14-15 degrees and there is some up shooting. Im leaning on getting an 8.5* with a 757 speeder to lower my spin rate.
