As Mr Sooty said Vijay has dumped it for the 'old' Launcher Comp. I have the Comp and i think it's great. Vijay dumped the HiBORE because he said it was "too straight" and couldn't work the ball like he could on the Comp. I haven't hit the HiBORE myself but have friends that own them and swear by them while reviews on the internet say they're useless?

I think this club's performance is heavily influenced by the shaft that is used with it. From reviews i'd say that the stock shaft suits a very small amount of people and when teamed up with the optimal shaft that the HiBORE is a powerful weapon to have in your bag.

My reccomendation is to try as many shafts as you can with this driver and see which one is best suited to you.

Very good driver if used/setup properly....Shaft has a big influence on this club. I tried out this club with 4 different shafts and came away with the NV65, 9.5 degrees as the best fit for my swing, a boring, straight and long shot. When using this driver the sweet spot is lower in the face than all the big heads (450cc) drivers. Don't tee up the ball higher, the shot will balloon and drop.

That's true HarleyGuy. If you read all the advertising and statistics, the HiBORE has been designed in that shape to align the COR Hotspot(described as the maximum "trampolining" spot on the club face) and the CGP( centre of gravity projection) to maximize the sweet spot.

Its really just common sense when teeing it up, if you look at the club, there is no "meat" behind the top part of the club, it has been moved back and lower in the clubface.

I have read that without the dip taken off the back, the HiBORE is a 520cc driver!

With the shape of the club and the lower COR (hot spot) on the face, I can use this club like a 3 wood also. I have been successful using it off the fairways on par 5 holes, and if you tee it up higher and hit off the top face of the club, you will balloon the ball and give you 3 wood yardage.

I love the setup and feel of the driver. I have hit it straight for the most part on the driving range - even when I demoed this club.

This has not translated on the course which I tend to pull my shots. I realize that this is a fundamental problem with my setup and the 'mentality' of playing a driver.

I hit it only about 220 carry and I love the sound when it is hit in the sweet spot.

I will only use it once on my home course to stay on the fairway - given my level of play (ie novice). For the most part, I use a 3W off of the tee to maximize the number of fairways hit.

The 9.5 degree Cleveland HiBore Titanium Driver is currently available at woot.com for $199.99 + $5 shipping.

...I haven't tried this driver, so I'm not going to jump on this offer. If they had the Ping G5, however.... Anyone know how the G5 compares withthe HiBore?

In the past week, I practiced with about 200 balls (not at once) on the driver. The club is long and straight. Slightly off centered hits still go far. When off of the toe, it ends up with a push. Just a background: I did have the club shortened by about 3/4" and had new grips placed.

Overall, for a beginner, given the lower center of gravity and the size of the face, it is very forgiving.

I definitely hit it longer than my newly acquired Hogan Big Ben 12* driver with R shaft.

My only debate is whether to carry two different drivers:
Hogan Draw Bias 12*
Hibore Neutral 10.5*

I love my Hibore. I have the Grafalloy prolaunch Blue shaft(stiff) and 9.5 degrees loft and I hit it consistantly around 295 yds. It hammers the ball pretty well. VERY forgiving too. Try it out..

I just overcame my fear of the driver. I hit all but 2 fairways with my Hibore (except for the par 3s). I think it is very forgiving. I have actually hit draws, fades and straight shots with it.

Now if I can figure out the putter.

I just purchased this driver. It's my first. I'm a newbie, and was using a hand-me down Big Bertha WarBird from the nineties (with a stiff shaft).

I got the HiBore 10.5 Prolaunch 65R. I hope this will be a good club to learn on. I figured at ~$170, it wasn't too much of a risk.

1st post BTW.

I've had mine for about 60 days, and am hitting better than I ever have before. You do need to tee it low, or lower than you would the BBertha. Also, watched the Benz tourney this weekend it looked like Vijay was back to using his....maybe the XL, but it was definitely the "HiBore" shape.
