Took mine out today as I had struggled in a competiton the day before.

To be honest, i was astounded, I was playing with an 8.5 degree G2 and then played with the Raptor 10.5 in stiff today and it is longer, straighter and to be honest the best driver I have ever hit.

I have been playing the Rapture for about 8 months now and still love it. I had the opportunity to hit the Rapture with a whole bunch of different shaft configurations at the Ping demo day. They also had a Trackman there so you could verify your launch conditions. I ended up going with a Diamana Blueboard 83 stiff shaft. Added 20 yards to my drives just by getting me into ideal launch conditions (15* and 2800rpm). Went with a shorter shaft (44.75") as the stock shaft is too long and uncontrollable.

Re: Ping Rapture Driver Review

One word...WOW! This thing is long and forgiving. I came from a G5 and I struggle to carry 180. On good drives, I'll max out at about 240 with roll, that's at the best (probably happens once every other round). When I struck the first ball with the Rapture, it carried 215. I was thinking to myself, ok, lucky drive. I hit about 10 more and 8 out of 10 carried about 220 and the other 2 about 200. I hit a total of 50 balls and I shanked 3-4. I was thinking to myself after the 15th ball, this has got to be luck. So I swapped over to the G5 and back to my old roots, nothing over 180. I then finished up the last 20-30 balls with the Rapture and my drives were simply amazing (for me course). I got the 10.5 with the TFC909 Stiff shaft. Trajectory is a bit high for me or maybe I'm not used to the driver yet. I think this is a keeper. I'm pretty consistant with my irons but I always struggled with my driver. With the Rapture by my side, things might look up for me!
