whats up everyone, i recently acquired a brand new R7 superquad in 8.5* with a stiff shaft. i've hit it once at the range and was pleased with my results; however, my last driver was an original r7 TP with an X flex UST and it was also an 8.5*, and i hit this new superquad higher than i ever hit my old R7. Question is this, is it the way the weights are set up or is it because the different shaft with a lower kickpoint. if anyone has used this driver, let me know what you think.
I agree....when I put in an Aldila NV shaft....my trajectory instantly improved. With the Re-Ax shaft the ball flight would lauch too high and balloon. With the Alidla NV shaft the ball flight came down to a mid-high launch with a penetrating trajectory w/plenty of roll-out. Once you find the right shaft this driver is awesome! I picked up at least 7 yards by installing the correct shaft for my swing characteristics. Happy Golfing! The Superquad is the bomb!
I reshafted my superquad with the 65 gram V2 stiff...BIG difference in ball flight it brought the ball down....I gained a good 7-10 yards in distance. too..Great Combo!!! And yes the Superquad BOMBS IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem. The reax with the new clubhead throws the ball significantly higher. This shaft doesn't work with a 110 mph swing speed and a 9.5 loft....or at least with my swing.
Thanks to the other readers...I'll try a v2 or aldila.
Well, i went down to the shop to buy a Callaway FT-i and ended up choosing the Superquad. I hit 5 shots with the Quad and all on the fairway, no warm up or anything. Hoping to pick it up tonight!
I don't know how forgiving it is because I hit the darn thing on the screws every time I swing it!!!
I probably don't really, but that is a testament to the forgiveness. I tend to overswing sometimes and have some severe misses, but I found the cure...I put 6-12-12-6 gram weights in the ports and turned this thing into a dang hammer!!! I can swing as hard as I want and the added weight has slowed my swing just enough that it feels controlled! The 12's in the back ports gives me the perfect trajectory, high, but not ballooning and the 6's on the outer ports adds some weight to the head and I swear it's like driving nails!!! I'm seriously considering putting 8's in the outer ports...in fact I'm going to eBay to buy some right now!

You can put the heavier weights in the forward positions and the lighter ones in the rear position. That's how TM claims to drop launch angle by as much as 2 degrees.
As for the shaft, what shaft is in it? Is it a TP? TM lists the kick points of all their RE*AX shafts on their site. I had a r7 460 that the rep gave me late in 2005 (I work at a pro shop), and the RE*AX 60 shaft in that club launched the ball very low for the loft of the head.
