I've hit it on the range a few times, but I only hit the demo at 10.5 degree and reg shaft so wasnt what I'd usually hit (Stiff, 9.5 or 8.5 degree) so I really didnt get a proper feel and shot out of the club. In a sentence
I tried the 9* Neutral with the Fujikura Speeder 586 S shaft.
My current driver is a Titleist 905S 10.5* Graphite Design YS-6 X-shaft. This has a nice medium trajectory for me. In my 3 rounds this year, I hit 10, 10 and 9 FW's (29/42 - 70%). So, I probably shouldn't change anything.
At this time, I can't really say like or dislike. The shop I was in didn't have enough shaft options. I need to wait for a Callaway demo day.
The 9* FT-i had a VERY HIGH trajectory for me. Significantly higher than my current 10.5* Titleist. It could be because the Fujikura has a low/mid kick-point compared to my YS-6, which has mid kick-point.
Also, all of my good hits went left. Which makes me think the mass produced head comes with a slightly closed face to offset the average golfers tendency to slice/push the ball. My current driver is spec'ed for a tour player. So, it was not a mass produced head.
I would like to find an FT-i that's from the tour van. And, it could be that I need to hit it with an X-shaft like my current setup. I'll add more if I can get to a demo day.
It's in my bag, and I love it. I hit it high, long enough (250+ yards), and fairly consistently, more so than almost any other club in my bag. Mine is the 10° neutral with the stock stiff Speeder shaft. For those who are interested, it comes standard with a D2 swing weight, which was a key for me. All of my clubs need to be in that D1 - D2 range or I can't feel the clubhead.
I hit it generally straight or with a high draw. It also impresses most of the people I play with, if that's any consideration.
I hit the fti and the nike square back to back into a net at a local golf store. I felt like the nike had a better feel to it and i liked the way it sounded better, surprisingly. The square heads just dont give me much confidence over the ball, ill stick with my rapture.
In my opinion for what its worth i found the callaway fti driver one great club to use. Yes its a little pricey but fully worth it when you try it.
I managed to hit a straight and longer ball onto the fairway with this beauty. Its square head design looks a little weird at first but makes up for it in performance.
Many sites and forums are raving about the callaway fti, i found tech info - hope this helps!
I like it. I might be able to see a few fairways. I am a frequent visitor to the trees. Maybe I will be able to see what the fairway looks like. It hits it long and straigth. Everything you could ever want from a driver. Then they gave me the bad news. It will take two months to get the specs I want. Oh well, looks like the chainsaw is going back in the bag.
I have posted a review about the FT-i on my blog for anyone that wants to have a read.
Just bought my new Ft-i today. I demod everything basicly and it came down to this and the ft-5. For some reason the ft-i went farther than the ft-5, but a little less accurate(although i think this was due to me getting used to hitting a square driver). It totally beat out the superquad, sumos, burner, rapture, d2, and hibore.
Gona go play with it tomorrow morning, hopefully all goes well
I bought the FTi driver after hitting at a demo day at my home course. I selected the 10 degree draw face with regular 586 speeder shaft. I took it and my G2 Ping to the driving range to see how they compared. After comparing the two, I found that I hit the G2 a little further and just as straight as the FTi. The G2 also felt more solid and just a bit heavier in swing weight. My G2 has the Aldila NV65S shaft and feels livelier with more feedback than the regular 586 shaft. I'm disappointed that I didn't get the results that others have with the FTi, but it probably just doesn't suit my swing.

Reason: Not enough posts to sell anything on GR
Update: I decided to check out a golf shop a friend recommended and thought I would take my FTi and my G2 along to have them checked out by the club fitter there. While I was relating my range experience to him, he invited me to bring them in and he would let me hit some balls on the swing analyzer. What I did discover: 1) My swing speed has dropped about 10 mph over the last ten years or so- now 95-98 mph with both clubs. 2) My drives average between 245-250 yards with a dispersion of about 9 yards from center primarily to the right. Launch angle was good with both clubs. The shaft on my G2, an Aldila NVS-65, is more toward the extra stiff side while the FTi speeder 586 regular shaft is a stiff shaft. Interesting because I love my G2 because it doesn't feel stiff and has great feel. The reason why became evident when he put it on the frequency machine and it continued to oscillate side to side while the FTi quickly changed from side to side to an elliptical pattern. Neither club is splined by the factory, so the G2 was a matter of chance. I believe correct splining is what makes the G2 feel so good. Sorry for the long post, but I thought it might be worth while sharing what I learned about my clubs from a swing analyzer and a master club builder, who generously spent about an hour with me and didn't charge me a dime. His shop gets my business from now on. If you are having problems with your clubs maybe some time at a good golf shop with a club fitter may help.
I just demoed a Ft-i tour driver, 9.5* head, neutral bias, with a ProForce 77gram V2 stiff flex shaft. Great driver, good distance, most every shot was straight when I played for a straight shot. Was able to work the ball quite well, which was a bit of a surprise, as I've heard the square head drivers are hard to work. Not this one. I hit one of if not my longest drive ever with this club, 290 yards of carry. I hit it for a month, and it's one of the best drivers I've ever hit. $499 price tag is a bit much, but it is nice. I don't know how much is the head, and how much is the V2 shaft, but the two together sure works great for me. My only complaint would be that the Tour version only comes in 8.5* and 9.5* loft. With more and more pros going to higher loft drivers, you'd think Callaway would make the Tour model in 10.5* at least. If they come out with a 10.5 Tour model, I'd have to think real hard about adding one to my bag. This one is really good, just not that much better than what I have to justify spending $499 on a new driver when I have 8 now.
I cant believe there has been so many 5 star votes, this thing is a hook machine even on fade bias. Sure it is long, but i find it hard to control, and then when i wanted to work the ball, it was over done.
