As anyone hit this club?
Interested in MOI and the advantages/disadvantages of the square Face.
I have hit the Sumo and Calloway...just wondering if anyone had any info on the Nickent...thanks
I tried a 10.5 with regular shaft at the range last weekend. Ball flight was too low and the face felt dead. I do think that it is the best looking of the square drivers though.
I think that they did a good job as far as styling goes. If the face is at the limit for COR then I am sure that with the right shaft and right loft it would be as good as anything out there. As I mentioned though, the launch angle was quite low for my swing. It would be interesting to try it with a different loft and shaft.
I just picked one up and love it. Yes the ball flight is a little lower but they did that on purpose. When I hit it correctly I get good carry but also a lot of roll that I wasn't getting with my Calloway FT-5. So the Nickent is actually going father. I am not a long htter and have a modest swing speed of 87-93 MPH but with the lighter regular shaft and the roll I get from this Driver i was able to get one in the Fairway 280 yards. And I several other over 250.
I also find that this Driver is easy to hit from the Deck and I found myself hitting it instead on my 3 Wood on the Par 5's.
Another complaint I heard was it's closed face and after research I found out why all the new Driver's other than the Tour models have closed faces. It is because the company's have found that at 460 cc the Driver heads are harder to get square at impact.
I understand that Nickent will be coming out with a Square Driver using their 4Dx technology.
I will be looking at that one also when it is released.

Reason: more info
I've owned this club for about a month now. I'm learning how to hit it and today I arrived. Very straight long drives with other players saying, "WOW!" This club really hits very straight - even missed hits. What makes this club really great is the OVER-SPIN. A 200 yard hit turns into a 250 yard hit; a 220 yard hit turns into a 280 yard hit. If you should miss the fairway, you'll also be longer in the woods!
Overall, I love this club! Sounds like an aluminum bat when you hit it!
I recently picked up one of these on E-Bay and have found it to be quite forgiving. I have been struggling off of the tee lately and was looking for any help I could find. After one range session with it I played my first round with it and managed to hit 6 fairways (fantastic for me of late) with 3 additional shots being just off of the fairway out of 11 driving holes, I played my hybrid off of the tee on three short par 4's. The distance I get is comparable to the Cobra (270yds for a reasonably hit ball) I was playing previously, but my shot dispersion is much better with the 3DX. I have the 9* with a stiff shaft and like the trajectory I get with this club. It is not a cure all as a bad swing still gives bad results, but any decent swing yields good results with lots of forgiveness. Balls that would be well off the fairway with my old driver are now just slightly off the fairway. It certainly has a unique sound but not difficult to get used too.
Just for comparison I went back to my old driver yesterday, Cleveland 460cc. I don't think I'll be pulling it out again. My Nickent 3DX Square Driver hits better and is more consistent in keeping my ball in the fairway - to to mention longer. I can't go back now even if I do keep getting those funny looks on the course.
