I agree with "deronsizemore".better players arnt even going to change the weights around. One of my mates has a huge slice with the driver and he changed the weights to suit and now he has problems with all his irons now as well. You are better leaven the weights standard and improving your swing.

I agree. Before I demo'd the thing I had the guy set it to "neutral" and then I had him adjust the one I bought to the same setting.
I hit a demo of these in a practice net today and it felt awesome. Had a great "crack" sound to it, but didn't feel bad when you hit it. Very well weighted, comfortable, etc. I wish I could have taken it on the launch monitor, but that thing was wacky when I used it anyway.
The one I used was a 9.5* loft with a stiff Speeder shaft and a midsize Ping grip. I wanted to take it home. But since I planned to turn in an application for a job there a few minutes later, I thought that might not be the best idea
I asked to have my review of this club erased but it hasn't happened...
Anyway, after experiencing some serious problems with the R7 I traded it in for a King Cobra 454 and had it reshafted with a 44 inch shaft and I like that club much better. The thing I came to really dislike about the R7 was that I wasn't sure if I had the weights where they should be or if I was just making a poor swing. Consequently I moved the weights every which way and it still didn't help. I'll also admit that I'm a headcase who prefers things to be simple so I decided that a driver that didn't have all the weight adjustments would be preferable. This way I've simply learned how to hit the Cobra rather than having to wonder if I've weighted thing all screwy (hope that makes sense).
Anyway, my apologies for my premature review. Again, I asked to have my comments stricken from this section but...
I love it, it has made this a much more enjoyable summer to play for me.
Wouldn't trade it for anything, plus Taylor's customer service was great to me, a friend mishit the ball and dented the toe of the club after my 2nd round
The club pro got a new one for me from his rep, no questions asked.
I picked mine up the summer after an equipment fair at the local links. I was using an R540 and picked up 20 to 25 yards in length and shrunk my scatter by something like 50%. I talked to the Taylormade rep and he said that is about what he has seen as people step up to the new technology.
I have a 10.5* r7 that I bought in used but mint condition. I am a slicer due to some swing flaws on my part. For anyone thinking that this club will correct your slice, I would suggest that you think again. have sliced many, many, MANY shots over this past summer since I got the r7. And that was with the weights set to full draw. Recently, I decided to set the weights back to neutral and try to learn a correct swing. A pro made some suggestions which I tried at the range this week and my shots were suddenly dead on straight and pretty long (for me). I am still very happy with my r7. I look forward to getting my swing to be more solidand then being able to change the weight distribution for maybe some draw if I want it. I think if I had paid $400 for this club (as a hacker thinking it was going to cure my problems) I would have been greatly disappointed. Since I got mine for just over $200, I am satified. I doubt that I will be buying the Rescue Dual unless I can get a really great price.
I play a TM R7 quad TP and hit it very well... used to play a titleist 983k 9.5* and i hit it well, but not long enough... the r7 is 8.5* with a ust proforce2 X-flex, so its a little stiff.. the shaft has a high kickpoint and promotes low ball flight, which i like.. I hit the ball consistently 300-310yds accurately... no complaints here except the retail pr. but i didnt pay retail.. peace out
I went to Edwin Watts this morning, demo'd the R7 400cc HT, FT-3, R5, SQ, and 905T. The R7 won the test with flying colors and I bought it immediately. I went to the range, hit 50 balls and now i am helplessly in love with this thing. I can work the ball either way and i have the same high ball flight every time. I hit maybe 1 bad shot out of 50. I never really liked a high ball flight but this club has changed things. I gained over 10 yards over my old Ignite which i used to think was long. The only regret I have is that I didn't buy this club a year ago. Can't wait to play my first round with it tomorrow and see how it improves my scores.
Just so you know, I am hitting a 400cc HT 11.5* with a stiff MAS2 55 gram.
Played 36 holes today so here is part 2 and my real review.
Distance: LOOOOONG. I averaged about 270 with my ignite and my long was 290 on this course. Today I averaged about 290 and I had more than 10 drives over 300 and one 350 yard drive! My shortest drive was maybe 275 which was into a hard wind but still crushed. I almost drove 3 par 3s and hit 3 par 5s in two thanks to this club. The really crazy thing is that I am swinging this club waaay slower and smoother than i swung the ignite and i am still dwarfing my old distances.
Accuracy: Good. Not unbelieveably excellent, but then again, it's not the club, its the guy swinging it. I hit 17 out of 26 fairways which is a VERY big improvement over the Ignite which I averaged about 30% fairways with. The good part is when I did miss a fairway I was right there in the light rough only maybe 5 yards off the fairway at most.
Workability: UNBELIEVEABLE. Oh man this club is fun as all get out to hit. I was hitting 290 yard cut shots around dogleg corners and then coming to the next tee and shaping a 300+ draw around a dogleg left.
Moveable Weighting: I didn't expect this to make any difference for me seeing that i am only a decent golfer. It will HELP you to draw and/or fade, but it will not make it an automatic fade club or draw club. I haven't tampered with the high/low settings yet because i like the flight i have. I still see this feature as propaganda, but then again I bought this club because of the club itself, not because of the weighting system.
Overall, I think this is definitely the best investment ive made in my golf equipment selection. I thought this club was all hype but it is the exact opposite. I would highly recommend this club to any handicapper who can make a solid strike on the ball off the tee.

i gave a eagle rating here...the ball comes off this face very hot. best driver i have ever hit...i use to own an r5,905s and t, ping g2 460,cobra 440sz,cleveland launcher 400,460 and to me they do not compare. maybe r7 the shaft did it(stiff, low torque, tip firm)??/...im not sure but right now ill be playing my r7 for awhile. weight set up with a slight draw face. I have so much more confidence at adress with this club, i think thats because its soooooo much longer than the rest! I really now do belive that the correct shaft is 90% of now-a-days driver technolgy. You have to try many different shafts and get the clubhead u feel most confident at address with..thats how i did it and i finally after about 2 years hitting unqualified stuff i found my bread and butter, needless to say...im playing the very best golf of my life now, Thanks taylormade!
I just got the r7 quad and i love it i set it to a neutral postition with 28 grams on the back 2 and 20 on the side's i dont have to swing as hard to get some distance now. I love it.
5 stars.
spent some time today comparing driver's today. The R7 460 9.5 with S flex reax 60 is perfect for my current swing. It smashed the ball and went perfectly straight where other drivers I tested went slicing right. Very forgiving. Huge smashes with little effort. Nice also that it carries 40 yds further than my old club, the regular flex Tour Edge Bazooka OS 10.5
