The GBB II is without doubt the best driver I have ever owned. I wouldnt trade it for any club currently on the market, with the possible exception of the ERC Fusion, although i've never hit it.

The GBB II is a lovely shape, you know when you struck it well, which is important, and it goes miles on a lovely high flight.

Top driver.

First comment to start with: get the 415cc over the 380cc version.

I just picked up the GBBII 415cc with an Aldila NV65 regular flex w/o headcover for a low eBay 1 bid only price of $150 about a month ago:) Condition is 9.5 out of 10. I'm extremely pleased with it. First off, I am a Callaway equipment user. So I do know how forgiving my X-14 irons trully are. The GBBII is no exception. But the GBBII is not the most forgiving club out there. It is the King Cobra 440SZ. But I like the feel at impact and the sound of the ball when struck by a Callaway. I don't drive that far (200-240 with average 220 when playing a round). But my drives go in the fairway or a few yards off. I play at muni courses :) I was a 20 handicapper before I got the club. Now I'm down to a 16 BUT half is due to making a better swing and half due to the club. I've shot 39 twice (par 36) now on back nine play.

My friend tried mine and he will upgrade his 380 to a 415. Also with an Aldila NV shaft, get a 10 degree versus the 9.

As for buying it retail, I saw during Labor Day Week that tgw.com (The Golf Wharehouse) was selling it for $237 delivered, no tax since they are in KS. This is even for a custom shaft!

Higher MOI, greater forgveness, and IMO the 415 looks much better than the 380 from address.

My friend who has the 380cc states the 415cc looks perfect (better shape) at address as well. I'll ask him about forgiveness. But don't quickly jump to the 415. I'm counting on Callaway having a 440-460 model soon. Due to their recent company announcment, I'm now predicting no new drivers will be introduced before Christmas. There is too much inventory in the channel. Probably new drivers in the spring time. We'll see.

It seems all I can do is echo the already glowing comments on this driver. I traded in my r7 quad in favor of the Callaway GBBII 415 10* w/ YS-6 Stiff shaft (after purchasing and loving two Big Bertha metalwoods). The head size is perfect, as I simply cannot find any playability above 440cc. I'm told that the ERC Fusion will be coming out shortly in 415cc, as well as a Pro Series (like Mickelson's).

I looked on TheGolfWarehouse.com for this driver and they wanted you to select the degree of loft & the "flex"

How do I know which loft & flex to choose?

Thank you.

Matt, you have to get fitted for your clubs before you can even think about mail order on a high dollar club. Once you have been fitted properly you will know the answers to loft, lie, shaft flex, kick point, tip stiffness, etc.

i own it and dont care for it at ALL. Hard for me to work it and if you dont hit sweet spot forget it. IMO another choice would be the way to go.

See your local pro, he can do the fitting or direct you where it can be done.

I couldn't agree more. I prefer it to my ERC Fusion. The only reason I don't use it anymore is because it was lost in a house fire.
