the nike ignite is amazing I hit a gbbIII last year and that club was sweet this club added around 15 extra yards with better accuracy. I did change shafts also this year to a y-s6 which lowered my flight trajectory that probably helped the distance out too, but this club is flat out awesome
When this driver first came out, I purchased the 410 8.5 degree/NV65S shaft. This driver hits very long and is pretty forgiving. The ball flight was okay and got good roll. Wasn't hitting as much fairway as my 9 degree Callaway BB II /Speeder 757 Tourspec shaft. The distance was about the same. I did end up selling the Nike to a friend that wanted to purchase it.
What's In The Bag Now?
Callaway BBII / Speeder 757 Tourspec Stiff or Callaway 2004 454 / NV65 Stiff
Callaway 2004 BB 3 Wood / Pro Launch Stiff
Callaway Steelhead Plus 5 Wood / NV65 Stiff
Callaway X Tour Irons / S300
Cleveland CG10 Wedge
Callaway Tour Blue TT1 Putter
Titleist Pro V1 / Callaway HX Tour
After a long trial and several add'l clubs later (fully tested during play). I am not retracting my statement that this club is extremely long and better than many. What I will say, however, is that there are potential accuracy issues with the Ignite 460 due to the large head. When hit on the screws this driver is long and straight, one of the straightest I've hit, but....I'm becoming a non-believer in 460cc heads due to the inability to work the ball. And when you miss one off the toe on the Ignite 460 it's gone. Not good for serious play. The Titleist 983K is not perfect either due to the draw bias, but far better from a control standpoint. I gave this club a full honest evaluation.
How good is this Driver if anyone has it can they give me some info on how well it goes i have a slow to medium swing will this driver suit that.......
The Nike Ignite has just won the ultimate driver 2005 in this months golf world.
I demoed this club a few months back when my mate was looking around for a new driver, and must say i was very impressed, almost as forgiving as the G2 and maybe slightly longer.
So all the people that are slating it on here either can't play golf or they are commenting without even hitting it.
i tried a srixon xx10..and the R7 and they never got a look in in comparison to the ignite.....and the xx10 is non conforming........its down to what you feel comfortable with......i woudn't part with it without some major justification.......don't knock it unless you've tried it
i have the 460 cc version and i love it. It has added 10-15 yards consistently to my drives and is extremely forgiving. My miss-hits with this club still get very good distance.
My Ignite is 1 month old. It is 460cc 9.5* loft.
At first, I wasn't getting enough height, so I almost traded it in for a 10.5*. Now, however, I am getting very adequate height (began to use longer tees).
When I'm laying up a shot off the tee (e.g. dogleg), I swing my Nike at about 60% power, and every time it has traveled almost as far as my full swing shots. This leads me to believe that when I learn to hit the club correctly, the distance will nearly double!
