Golf Vacation August 04 - Portugal (Europe)

Last Minute Golf / Beach Vacation in Cascais, near Lisbon, Portugal
Saturday August 21 to Saturday August 28

Hi everyone,

I have a timeshare on a golf and country club resort in Cascais, Portugal (Europe) where I go to play with some friends every year at the end of August. It's a beautiful place, and an amazing course. Anyway, this year we have two villas, but some of my friends have bailed at the last minute. We therefore have enough golfers to fill one villa but not the other. As I have already payed renatl / maintenance fees for this year, I really want to fill the other villa and cover costs.

The villa is a 2 bed 2 bath detached villa with a private garden. The resort is called Quinta da Marinha and has salt water pools (free), tennis, health club, kids club, horse riding, and soccer pitches (extra charges for these). It is 10 minute walk to the beach (very clean / quiet). There are excellent restaurants onsite and nearby, and Lisbon is a 20 minute drive away.

the golf course is a par 71 6014 metre 5* Championship course (European PGA Tour event course), of an excellent standard. The villa normally costs about us$ 2400 per week to rent. Green fees are $85 weekdays and $100 weekends. Buggies, trolleys and caddies are available. As I have a full membership to the clubs, I can arrange free golf for my guests. If anyone is free and wants to come, I can offer 7 nights accommodation and six 18 hole green fees for $500 per person (four people sharing), and upto 2 kids can come free (sleep in the lounge on sofas). The golf alone is worth $525 each, and the total saving is over $2500! This does not include flights to LISBON. As I said, I am going with my friends, so once at Lisbon, we can travel to the villas together. Anyone interested, leave a post.

I can email pics etc. You can see the resort and course (and check prices) here:

As I said, this is a last minute deal as my friends cancelled, I need names within two weeks to send to the club, otherewise i will leave the villa empty. I am not sure how expensive flights to LISBON are from the US, but we got ours (from the UK) for £166 (about $300).

Thanks for reading

Do these pictures look familiar? YES, I've been there, as I have friends that live near Cabo de Roca, outside Lisbon, Quinta de Marinha is a wonderful course, with beautiful scenery - I enjoyed playing there tremendously.

Unfortunately, I can't make it, otherwise I would take your generous offer. I'm not allowed much vacation time, so I cannot make the trip. I loved my time in the Lisbon/Cascais/Sintra/Estoril area, I enjoyed it tremendously, and ate a lot of wonderful food and wine!

If you have other pictures, please email them to me! Here are a couple pictures from my vacation there last year! Much regards, SAm T storrez2@ev1.net

It looks lovely out there. I definitely wish I could go. I even went so far as to check airfares from Honolulu to Lisbon but they're a little out of my price range right now and I'd have enough trouble rounding up 3 people to take the trip with anyway. Good luck filling the vacancy, though.

Thanks for your support

Thanks for the support guys! Great pics SamT, they bring back lovely memories for me too. I have loads of pics at home, I will try to post some when I get back at the weekend (working away from home this week). I especially love the second pic - that is one of my favourite holes - lost many a ball in that lake! But when you hit a seven iron onto the green from that tee it feels GOOD! Hope someone is able to take me up on this, it would be a shame to let the villa (and the free golf) go to waste.

Kind regards to all
