Re: Turnberry

Could not agree more. The ailsa course is one of the great courses a regular player can truly enjoy. The beauty of this course is amazing.

We stayed in the town near Royal Troon and the town was fun, but the hotel was so-so. If you like being treated with kid gloves and 1st class, the Turnberry hotel cannot be matched. They were so nice and helped us get a ride to the airport.

all courses are usually in excellent condition and offer a fare challenge. I never stay at the hotel, i have a friend who is a member so i stay with him when i go there for a game, usually 2-3 times a year. Some other really good courses in Ayrshire,if your ever in the area again try Prestwick,Belleisle and royal Troon also Western Gailles.

My day there was beautiful as well. I played in shorts. That was a day I will never forget. Just an awesome experience.

Prestwick is a great course. I showed up groggy at Royal Troon and could not eat from the drinking the night before. That course beat me up, but I parred the postage stamp. Great course. The 2nd course their beat me up as well. That's where I learned that the bunkers are a penalty shot, you just have to accept it.
