Orlando Golf

I am going down to Orlando soon and my golfing buddy has cancelled on me. I have decided to go anyway by myself. What are the best courses to play down there? I can afford any course, but prefer to find courses that are really worth it. Or courses that are somewhat less known/expensive that are really great. Thanks!

Hey man, when are you going? My nieces live down there and I can find out from them what are the best places to play, they don't golf, but they'd get me the information to pass along to you...sorry about your bud cancelling, would love to take his place, but not feasible...

Here's a google page to Orlando Golf...

http://www.google.com/search?q=golf+...en-US:official

I was doing a search for a friend. Orange County National has several courses...pricey. That's where the most recent Q School just took place. Fire Fox, Grand Cypress, Hawk's Landing... There's a ton down there. I've played Hawk's Landing (Marriott World Ctr) and Highland Reserve. Both were fun.

Have a great trip.

Orlando has a ton of courses. The New Course at Grand Cypress is a neat course. It is Jack Nicklaus's tribute course to St. Andrews. Kind of fun to play a links course for a change of pace. The magnolia course at Disney is where the PGA tour plays. However it is loooooooong. The other course I have played that is in great condition is Keene's Point. Another Nicklaus course. Please keep in mind all three are pricey. I have heard a ton of great reviews of Fox Fire in Kissimmee, but have never played there myself.

Just got back yesterday from Disney and played both the Magnolia and the Palm...both are nice but like mentioned above the Magnolia is looooong. I liked the Palm a lot more, it's pricey but where else have you ever played that 50% of the range balls are Pro V's. Also lots of water down there, but I don't remember it being a hugh problem on the Palm, just something to take notice of...on the Magnolia it's a different story. So I'd recommend the Palm.

Grand Cypress
Southern Dunes
Orange County National - either track.

That should do you.

Oh, you said ANY course, since money is no object? Why not pay Arnie a visit at Bayhill.

Look into Reunion. It's the best course I've played around here, but I'm not sure if it's open to the public anymore. If you play there, play the Watson course (Independence I think).

I've never played it, but I've heard that the best Disney course is Osprey Ridge. Also look into Eagle Creek.

There's tons of great courses around here so you won't be disappointed.

Other's of the top of my head:

Celebration
Orange County National
Falcon's Fire
Grand Cypress
Champion's Gate

Many, many others. Those are great starts.....

I've had buddies play at FireFox, and they say its a very good course.. As for personal experience, even though I live 30miles away from Orlando, I've never golfed around there.. Daytona Beach I have though.. Disney has some nice courses, I know that the PGA has an event on one of Disney's courses..
