go on golfcourse.com to check out the area courses. don't be alarmed by the prices, summertime rates are in effect and are lower. the best time to go is in the morning, thunderstorms like to pop up in the afternoon and it's usually cooler. http://www.golfcourse.com/

Lots of good courses in that area. If you can get out to Sandestin and play you won't be sorry! Across the bay is a development called Bluewater Bay, and they used to have some nice courses, but it's been 7 years and a few storms since I lived up there, so things may have changed a bit!

Gear Up! Definitely brings the sticks! And be prepared to go ball shopping because most of the courses there have lots of water!
OK, Destin is a town, formerly a sleepy fishing village, until developers came in and saw the beaches. Now, Destin is a community with many condos for the summer travelers. You will likely have a blast. Sandestin is a resort community in Destin (actually just east of the town proper). The resort itself has 4 courses - The Links, the oldest of the 4 and possibly the toughest due to the winds; Baytowne, which brings you from the Back Bay area to the Gulf of Mexico and back; the Raven, home to the Champions Tour Boeing Classic for the first time this year - awesome course; and Burnt Pine, the private club, with what is the signature course for the entire development and easily the most incredible par 3 hole I've seen, along the bay. You may only play this course as a guest of the resort property, or a resident of the community. The Links and Baytowne aren't really expensive, but The Raven and Burnt Pine are pricey, even with resort rates. Check out the website - www.sandestin.com - for all the info on the whole resort, including the Village at Baytowne Wharf. If you are staying at the resort, this is all the golf you'll want, but there are other options around, including Regatta Bay, Kelly Plantation (Fred Couples design), Bluewater Bay, plus others in nearby Fort Walton.
Check it out, but definitely bring the sticks!!!!!!!!
