Royal approval has been granted ,so the plan is:

Fly to Tampa 5th Oct from Gatwick , arrive early evening
Accomodation - Master Inn near State Fairgrounds

Play TPC TAmpa Sunday 8th after noon @$79
Play World Woods Monday 9th - 36 holes @ $70

I'll be booking World Woods and TPC tomorrow, so if anyone wants to join me shout quickly.

Otherwise I have five more days to fill playing golf, with a game with Mikey300, Inconsistent and wb4jth top of the priority list.Anyone know how to get on at TPC Prestancia ?

P.S. anyone in England thinking of coming , the cost on expedia.com is £670.82 excluding insurance if you are quick

Lokk up Orange County National (near Orlando). They have two beautiful championship courses, Crooked Cat and Panther Lake plus a Par 3 layout. Played there several years ago in a tournament and just loved it.

Lefty...my wife has some relatives coming in on Oct. 5th, along with my youngest son. My granddaughter and I have the same birthday, Oct 6. I might not be able to get loose on the 7th...but I might be able to play with you during the following week...all the relatives will be leaving on Oct 8th. They aren't really coming for our birthday, they are just coming in for some sand and sun and it just happens to be on that weekend....I sure would like to get together with you guys. I'll just have to see what develops. ( I'd rather be golfing than "relativising")...

When you have supported English football, cricket and rubgy teams as long as I have, losing becomes less painful. FAmiliarity breeds contempt .. and resignation.

Weather looks promising, I'll be ready for the invasive body search at the airport.

Returned to good old Blightly safe and sound.

Best day was Saturday when I met Mikey300,Inconsistent and Wb4tjh at Boca Royalle GC. We had great fun and it was a pleasure to meet other saddo's off the internet. The course was superb, showing that good golf courses do not have to be over 6500 yardsto test your game. Mike was a superb host and the four of us had some fun. I have a picture which I will post this evening.

Best course played - Legacy at Sarasota. Arnie;'s design was uperb, and it was well kept. The eleventh is a great hole, and I paid $30 for a replay in the afternoon. http://www.legacygolfclub.com/

Other courses I will play again - World Woods,TPC Tampa, the Eagles

Course I would avoid - Walden Lakes - it has recently been sold and is in terrible condition.

The weather was hot ,88-92 , and the only rain I saw was on the way to the airport to go home. I was very lucky with the guys I drew to play golf with .I was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed their company. It was an interesting spread of people, with the morning round atWorld Woods listening to New Yorkers moaning about the Yankees and the afternoon with a familyfrom Detroit waxing about the Tigers. One guy I played with at TPC arranged to play 36 holes with me at the Eagles later in the week.

Why do Americans like Tony the Phoney Blair ? Everyone kept telling me what a great guy he is , he is a snake oil salesman who is leaving soon.

TeetimesUSA organised the golf well, so if you are thinking about a holiday , I would recommend them.

Mikey500, Wb4tjh , Lefty and Inconsistent in the bar after the round. I will be asking my daughter how to lighten it up and will hopefully repost later.

When the young lady behind the bar poured a draft beer, the pump jammed ,pouring cold beer into the waste tray. Wb4tjh dashed around the bar , we thought to put a pitcher under the tap and collect the free beer. Much to our disgust, he quickly fixed the tap, not only stopping the free beer, but without collecting any for us to imbibe. I believe in honesty but this was going too far!

That's what everyone said about people from SE Michigan. I did not realise how the rest of USA felt about them.
