NEED HELP PLANNING A GOLF TRIP!!!!!!!

I've been given the wonderful task of planning a golf trip for 8 guys. We're all in the 4-12 handicap range and basically like to golf and gamble. We're trying to play 5 rounds of golf during the 3 day, President's Day Weekend in February. We did it last year in Houston and averaged about $55 per round playing some of the greatest golf courses we'll ever play, including Red Stone (where they play the Houston Open)!!!

This year we're looking for someplace different. We're flying out of St. Louis and hoping to find a place that we can fly to cheaply, that has decent weather in Feb, and has reasonably priced great golf courses.

Does anyone have any suggestions for destinations and/or courses?? We were looking at Orlando, FL, but will literally go anywhere across the county if we can find a sub $300 flight and rounds of great golf for $50 - $70 that time of year.

Any ideas?? I'm new at this golf trip planning thing. Last year was my first trip.

Thanks!!!
Mike

Re: NEED HELP PLANNING A GOLF TRIP!!!!!!!

Check out Orange County National in Orlando.

You could also check out Amelia Island Plantation. Not sure if this would be in your range but if they are hard up for golfers you might be able to get a good deal. Let me know about this place and I can get you the number of the Sports Group Sales guy.

Definently come to sarasota florida, Beautiful women, great beaches, and about 100 golf courses withing 50 miles. Great prices and some nice courses. We have a few TPC courses including prestancia which is one of my favorites, and of course some regular courses as well.

Myrtle Beach should be the top of your list, plus there also some casino gambling boats. Drop us a line.

Re: NEED HELP PLANNING A GOLF TRIP!!!!!!!

I know this reply is probably a bit late but I just joined and saw your thread. I've been going on Golf Trips for almost 20 years now and the best spot for price, variety of courses, dining, and entertainment for 8 to 12 guys is Myrtle Beach. My buddies and I have been going on our annual trip there for the past five years and we have a great time. If you need further info I will be glad to provide.
