Ft Myers Area

So I'm looking to play in the Ft Myers/Cape Coral area this weekend and am looking for a medium priced course that's well maintained. I'm used to Municipal and cheaper public courses and am a high handicapper so I'm not all that judging as to the details. Any recommendations? I did some internet searching and there's just SO many courses in the area that it's hard to get a handle on.

I'd like to pay less than $60 but if there's a 'must play' course that's cheaper than $100 I'd be willing.

Thanks!

Re: Ft Myers Area

Well I guess I'll just respond to my own question now that I've gone and played for the next person.

There were 2 municipals in the Ft Myers and 1 in Cape Coral: They only take tee times 1 day ahead of time and they booked up VERY fast so I was unable to play there.

I ended up playing at Royal Tee Country Club. It's a 27 hole semi-private course. Everyone working there was incredibly nice. I'm very used to the public and especially the 30something crowd being treated pretty poorly so it was a very nice surprise. Huge thumbs up there.

The course was difficult. We played the King for the front 9 and the Queen for the back. The king wasn't too tough other than having quite a bit of water. The greens were very large and fairly flat. The queen course had much smaller greens, a lot more carries off the tee, and a lot more sand. I thought it was much more difficult.

Ended up pretty happy. Paid $70 for a morning round in peak season. I recommend the course to anyone.
