Wishbone and I's little exchange in a thread the other day on "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" got me to thinking of a game...not sure if anyone will be interested here or not, as I know it seems most of the trivia games fizzle out in a short while, but oh well. Maybe we've got a few trivia buffs in here who might enjoy it.
The purpose of this game is to try to guess where in the world girlgolfa is at....you see, in her quest for infinite knowledge, girlgolfa must make her way to various sites around the globe of some significance...whether in the realm of history, nature, current events, or what not. I'll start the cluegiving by describing where g.g is at, and once someone gets the answer to the clue, it's their turn to come up with g.g's next destination. You can send her to any place, current or past, so long as it has some significance as I mentioned.
To begin....
Girlgolfa begins her voyage by leaving New Zealand and seeking out the world's largest river in terms of volume emptied at its mouth. After spending a few months traversing the seven seas in a rubber raft (ok, so this is not realistic, but it's not meant to be.. ) she recognizes what it is she's looking for...the mighty ____?____ River. Where is girlgolfa at?
After seeing the mighty Amazon River girlgolfa hears about a lake that is home to the world's only freshwater seal. She jumps on her rubber raft and sets sail back on the seven seas. After a long long trip by rubber raft, mule rides across mountains, and a tricycle ride through dense forests she reaches the lake. There she finds out that Lake ?????? is not only home to the world's only freshwater seal but also holds 20% of the surface freshwater in the world.... Where is girlgolfa at?
Upon leaving Lake Baikal, she travels south and slightly to the east. The rubber raft won't do so she stows away on a large cargo ship and safely makes it to Japan. From there, she continues traveling southeast where she hitches a ride on a submarine and travels into the depths of the deepest point on the ocean floor (that we know of), the ____?____ trench. Where is girlgolfa at now?
That's right. Glad you got it fast someinfidel because I was ready to get to bed, but Wishbone actually posted the exact question (I wasn't going to mention the seals though, for what it's worth) I had in mind when I made up the first post...I just went with something else.
After that girlgolfa is all wet, so she goes back in time to the hottest day ever recorded, 136* Fahrenheit to test her golf under extreme conditions, and tries to hit a few balls in _____?_____ in the year ___?___
After travelling through time and space, GirlGolfa heads to a tourist destination consisting of two islands 19 miles off the North / East Coast of what was formerly know as British Honduras to visit some rare captive Boas. Where is GirlGolfa?
