This, copied from another thread, should give some insight into how difficult the application process can be....of course a few more members have been added so it's not up top date:

GR Rule 205.34, section B of code 9-22, submitted 10/17/04 to be instituted effective 1/1/05 and revised if needed 12/31/05:
All Green Jacket applications must be submitted to the "Green Jacket Officiating Committee," who must review all applications and conclude based upon their own discretion whether or not the applicant has fulfilled all necessary requirements for Green Jacket initiation. The final decision on any applicant must fall upon the committee's vote. The committee is comprised of the existing members of the Green Jacket Club: leaguegolf, stlcard_25, ForgedRBest, Victory, and valeogut.
A simple majority of votes are needed for any member to be invited to complete the final requirement needed for entry into the coveted club: the member must pass a rigorous putting skills test which may include (but is not limited to): holing of 10 consecutive 20 foot putts, or 5 consecutive 40 foot putts, putting cross handed with eyes closed for an entire round of golf, while requiring fewer than 25 putts in the said round, putting one-handed while balancing on one foot, again needing fewer than 25 putts for a whole round, or putting with any variety of rudimentary putters such as turkey subs, maple switches, broom handles, or rainbow trout, again, needing less than 25 putts in a round of golf.
Isn't there a technicality I could get in on? It worked for VJ...lol.
I'm trying to come up with something profound but for now it is off to our quarterly PGA meeting. See you later. Maybe there will be an industry person as a keynote speaker that I can report on.
I think he should hold off until Bama gets his other 140 posts and go in together. It could be a GR first, two members qualified on the same day. Better get typing Matt

LOL, it does me no good in this forum...Although, I'm not so sure I can have <25 putts in a round with a turkey sub...
I know Bama, I'm glad I had no such requirement when I got in...I'd have been tempted to eat the sub rather than ruining it by putting it on the ground.....however, if girlgolfa can do it, anyone can! Or maybe she just got lucky and got to use the rainbow trout?
