If you had to rank the
worst offender from one to five, then who would be most liable for the death of the baronness?
Once upon a time, there was a baron and a baronness. The baron was leaving for an extended trip,and before he left he told the baronness she was not to leave the castle,he said to her;
"Wife I have left strict instructions that if you leave this castle, you are to be killed. Also know that if you are not here where I can find you, then again you will be executed."
So the baron left. After a while the baronness became bored and snuck out of the castle as she could swim the moat and visit her forbidden boyfriend.However that night a torrential rainfall pro-longed her stay. The next day she heard that the baron would be returning. Panic-stricken, she ran back to the moat which by now had widened due to the rainfall and she could no longer swim the breadth of it. She looked around and saw a ferry, and begged the ferryman to help her cross the moat. He told her that unless she could pay him two pieces of gold he would not help her across. She explained her predicament and begged that he help her across, but he remained adamant...no gold, no crossing

. She immediately ran back to her boyfriend and begged him for two pieces of gold so that she could cross the moat.
Although he had the money, he refused to give any to her stating the affair had run its course and he had no further wish to see her. Desperate, she approached the castle and shouted over to the guard at the lowered drawbridge to let her in, promising to never let the baron know that he had done so. He told her that he had his orders but said.
" If you can find another way into the castle without having to pass me then I will never tell the baron that you left. However I have my orders and will stick by them. I have been instructed that should you pass me I must kill you."
The baronness searched and searched for another way in but to no avail. She then begged her boyfriend, the ferryman and the guard to help her into the castle. All remained firm in their positions. Through sheer desperation, she tried dashing past the guard, but as he was ordered to, and had warned the baronness...he then killed her!
I`m sorry it didn`t have a happy ending

...but who`s most liable for the death of the baronness ranked 1-5....the baron, the baronness, the boyfriend, the ferryman or the guard?
