It's been quite a while since we've had someone enter the ranks of the Green Jacket club, but it appears we have an excellent candidate to be the next inductee. Since his arrival at the site in June 2004, Halk has plugged and chugged away, happily congratulating those who have gained that lofty status, all the while moving closer to the day when he too would be able to don the elusive Green Jacket.
Well, it appears the day has come and I'd like to be the first to welcome you, Halk, to the club!! However, there has been a small problem finding the money in the budget to buy the next batch of jackets (ForgedRBest blew a big chunk of cash in having that roadkilled alligator made into a personalized golf bag, and GG decorated the champion's locker room with so many mirrors, it's become nearly impossible to find your way out ), so we asked one of our members to supply us with a replacement in the meantime. Luckily, 4rplay came through with this beauty:
Now, I know it might be kinda hot for that insulated jacket in Alabama, and it's just a minor technicality that there are in fact no moose living in Alabama, but we're sure you'll wear it with pride!!
Hey, it beats having to putt with a dead fish, doesn't it?
Welcome aboard again Halk and I look forward to reading what you have to say in the next 1000 posts and beyond!
My fortune cookie from my favorite Chinese Restaurant today at lunch read “You will be awarded some great honor” I cannot think of any greater honor than to join my friends at Golf Rewind who have obtained the honor of wearing the Green Jacket. I would like to say thanks to Victor and all the moderators who work so hard to keep this a great site and of course the members of Golf Rewind who also deserve a big portion of that thanks. This is an amazing site just a bit of a year ago when I joined I never knew that just by posting a few messages on the internet would grow into a friendship that has spanned the world. Who would have ever thought that three people who posted back and forth over the internet would ever get together and play a round of golf there is no doubt a friendship was cemented that will last a lifetime. So to all my friends all over the world I raise my glass in a toast to you all “to all my great friends who I have come to know only by words but feel that I have met each and every one of you enjoy golf and the rewards of friendship that it brings”.
Thank you all
Hal
BTW: love the jacket may be a bit warm now but that’s ok will wear it proudly, first thought someone had borrowed JimSomebodys’ wind shirt.
Dinner menu: The best Southern Fried Chicken you will ever have for those few who do not like chicken there will be Bar-B-Q beef or pork with a sauce to die for there will plenty of napkins because if you do not get the sauce all over your face and fingers then you just are not enjoying great Bar-B-Q and fresh vegetables right out of the garden. For desert blueberry crisp topped with vanillin ice cream, made from fresh blueberries hand picked from my blueberry bushes which by the way this year are loaded with big sweet berries enjoy please.
And after that big dinner we will retire to the veranda to enjoy for those who wish a 12 year old Malt Scotch or any other drink you wish and we will tell golf stories well into the night and other thing since GG will be there we will keep the stories family friendly just as we do here on Golf Rewind enjoy and good health and good golfing to all my friends.
