My club has a very short menu (about 5 items) available for Halfway House grazers, but is 'renowned' for its mince-on-toast "special". For R7,00 (seven rand - that's about a dollar) you get a whopping helping of juicy mince + slab of cheese on a slice of toast. Almost everybody goes for it (not least of which the small menu probably has a decisive hand), whilst at my dad's club again it's the 'infamous' pie-chips-&-gravy.
What's your club's - or your - preferred 'pit-stop' dish?
Nothing special, in fact they almost seem intentionally insulting with their commonplace offerings that are sub par. I like the beer though. They at least offer a local microbrew on one of 3 taps. I bring my own lunch. What is mince anyways?
Mine has a full menu of Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese and Italian favorites...no hot dogs here...I usually get the Mie Goreng Seafood (Thin fried noodles with squid, scallops, shrimp and vegetables)...pair that with a fresh squeezed limeade or a beer and it will run me about $5 usd...
I don't have a "club," since I play public courses. However two of the main staples of most halfway houses are hot dogs and tuna fish sandwiches, with a sports drink or water chaser.
Our public course has a special menu of hotdog, bologna/ cheese sandwiches with power drinks/iced tea..I wait to eat when I get home which is just back of 13th green.
Well, have everything at my club, but i love the courses in south africa, how there is a stop at 9 holes thats not so common in the UK, i miss south african courses.
