Cool Children of technology... duhhh

We are but children of technology.
The other day my dad wanted to show me something which involved a calculator. As he punched a number the TV blipped on - gad, he'd used the remote by accident! Then what does he do? Throws the remote down, grabs the calculator and points it at the TV (to switch it off)! Hmmm... daddy had a blonde moment!
So there I go and leave my cell (mobile phone) at the office yesterday. When I stopped at the 7/11 on my way home and discovered this I immediately reached for my... duhhh... phone, which wasn't there - to... duhhh... phone the security guys to go look for... duhhh... it!
And that's not all. The other day I was busy in the kitchen helping the wife when I did something wrong cooking-wise. The first thought that jumped to mind was to 'click undo'! What undo? What key? Where? Idiot!
But the prize goes to my PA - normally a very bright young lady. She borrowed my cell recently, fiddled with it, cursed and chucked it down. Then I found out she'd gotten irate 'cause when she opened it... he-he-he... she didn't get a ring tone!
And I can't understand why people say we're dysfunctional?
Anyone else have these occasional, technologically challenging, moments?

My better half is the techno-phobe in our house. Her latest was being convinced that she had lost her cell phone charger because the one she had did not fit. She was convinced that one of our kid's friends had mistakenly taken it and after a week or so (she doesn't use it much) she went to Radio Shack and bought another one. It's one of those Trac Phones, where you buy the time cards as you need them and she'd bought some more time with the charger. She asked me to hook up the new charger and get online to add her time (this was my first involvement with this particular issue). She still had the old/bad charger plugged in. Before unplugging the old one I decided to try it. It plugged right in and started charging. She'd been trying to plug the charger into the head phone hole. She's only been using the phone for 2 years or so. We call them "senior moments".

My mom had a pretty good one a few weeks ago. She being in her 50's and all she never had an mp3 player before. So i gave her my ipod mini(there is nothing mini about that thing) because i got the new shuffle(amazing..buy one...now) and after i gave it to her 5 minutes later she comes running into my room and i can hear the music coming out of the headphones from 20 feet away and she yells "HOW DO U TURN IT DOWN!?", i go, turn the wheel and she says "THERE IS NO WHEEL, ITS JUST THIS WHITE CIRCULAR PIECE!"
