Who's the winner?

One early morning, a group of very competitive golfers were desperately searching for one of their golf balls out in the deep rough.

After several minutes of laboring, the golfer who sliced his ball out into the trash declared that he had finally found his elusive ball, inciting another golfer in his group to scream, "He is a durn liar and a cheat! I have his ball in my pocket."

Agreed, the true character of a man can come out on the golf course.

A few years ago, after thinking about that quote, I quit getting mad after poor shots...much less cussing and NO club throwing.

I never throw my clubs, but once in a while a cuss word will come out. Rarely is it very loud, normally its under my breath because it's a mistake I made, naturally.

I know this is a joke, but sometimes reality can be just as strange! A couple of months ago I was playing with friends on their home course. I go up and play there every couple of months. On the 10th hole, a dogleg left par 4, I hit my tee shot too far, through the dogleg into the woods on the far side. The sides of the fairway slope upwards on each side, as this course is laid out in an old phosphate mining area. I went about 6 feet up the hill where my ball entered the brush, and there's a ball laying there with a big black "G" on the side, just like I usually mark my balls with. It was playable to some degree, although the ball was about chest high! I took a 4i and hit it clean, almost like a baseball swing, leaving me about 5 yards from the green! My friend hit his second shot right down near where mine had landed. We get down to play out third shots, and there are 2 balls within 12 inches of each other, both are Noodles! Funny thing is, the ball I teed off with, which also had a big "G" on the side, had been Dunlop Loco! But, several weeks before I had played there, hit a ball up into that hill, and it had been a Noodle! So now I've played a ball I hit several weeks before and couldn't find, but not the ball I started with! Since there were about 5 skins riding on this hole, and no one behind us, I took the cart back up to the tee, and put a new ball into play. Ended up hitting a great shot, had 9i to the green and sank a 12 foot putt for a bogey!
