Riddle #2, more difficult
Okay, here's another riddle. This one is much harder, yet still, a grade school education should suffice. Again, it's 100% mathematical and there is no trickery involved.
A farmer has a golden hen that lays delicious golden eggs. Every Saturday, he takes the hen's golden eggs to the town market to sell to the town's people.
One particular Saturday, he brought his golden eggs and set them on a table to display them. His first customer of the day said, "I'll take half the eggs you have, plus half an egg more." The farmer obliged. That day, he had three more customers and they all had the same order for half his eggs and half an egg more.
At the end of the day, the farmer had sold all of his eggs and didn't break a single one.
How many eggs did he bring to market that day?
