We've got flying squirrels that come to our bird feeders at night. Quick little guys.

Well, no luck with the hunting today. Didn't start off very well when I slipped and fell face-first into the creek...what a clumsy fool I am. Anyway, no shots at turkeys today, no grouse, there just seems to be no food for them around here (I couldn't spot any acorns on the ground and the grape vines are bare as well), and even the spots that seemed like they had to be concealing something were uninhabited. I didn't head anywhere to find pheasants, and I really try to refrain from shooting at squirrels as they are too much of a pain to clean in return for the meat they provide, at least in my book. Overall it was a nice day and it's good to be at home away from that blasted city.

I notice I now have over 1000 posts. When's the green jacket ceremony? Of course I must pay homage to all those great champions who came before me and paved the way... league and victory, this one's for you!

Congratulations to you and the St. Louis Cardinals! I included the Cardinals because without their long play-off run, you'd still be around 800 posts. You've got to give credit where credit is due!

Welcome to the select "fraternity" of Green Jacket owners.

That's true. Without the Cards I might still be at 700 posts. But we all have our different threads that really add to our post counts. Now that the playoffs are over I have noticed my posting has tapered off a bit.

BTW, thanks. Who do you suppose will be next? I would say Forged, except he's too busy trash talking about his abilities and my lack of ability with a slide rule to get posting...

ForgedRbest (at 968) is a shoo-in for the next Green Jacket. Unless of course davecenter goes on another binge! The problem with Forged is he's probably going to wear those loud red plaid pants with the wide white belt to the ceremony. He thinks he's "retro" but it's just old stuff his wife has tried to throw away a dozen times!

Throw in the cowboy hat and alligator boots and I think you may have it there! He'll come flyin' in off the bayou in his boat after a hard day of crawdad fishing, crash right into the ceremony, and force its postponement until we can get the whole darn thing set back up again.

I don't know...did you get that opportunity when you were bestowed with the honor? Maybe next time I talk to Tiger I'll see if he can get us in.
