Nice prediction, Card!

As McNabb goes, so go the Eagles. It's just that simple and always has been. That's what is so worrisome about their prospects for the Super Bowl. Donovan hasn't shown that he can really produce in the big games.

Nice Family-friendly opening to Monday Night Football. ABC apologizes but gets all the publicity they were looking for in the first place. Now I've got to monitor MNF promos? That's just lame!

Kids should be in bed by 9 p.m. I am.

I rarely see anything offensive on TV unless I'm really looking for it. Then again, I'm so offensive that everything else seems pretty tame.

It's was 8 pm or earlier in 3/4 of the country when that aired. It's bad enough that we have to put up with wall-to-wall ads pushing alcohol. I understand that they have to make a buck, but that was just over-the-top, unnecessary.

I was in bed at 9:00 when I was a kid too, but 9:30 happens to be my "sports freak" son's bedtime and the beginning of MNF is somthing he ususally watches. At least he did until now!

It was a promo for their show "Desperate Housewives". It ran just prior to the game. Terrell Owens & Nicolette Sheridan, one of the stars, dressed only in a towel in the Eagles locker room. She's trying to talk him into staying with her & blowing off the game. She rips off the towel and jumps on him.... a lot of moaning & groaning. T/O says they'll have to win this one without him.... then "Are you ready for some football ?" Pretty tawdry.

MNF started with a scene of Terrel Owens wearing his Eagle uniform in the locker room. There's a blonde bombshell wearing just a towel coming on to him. When he tells her he's got a game to play, she drops the towel, gives him "the look" and jumps into his arms. Of course, there was no actual nudity, but the camera angles left very little to the imagination. I didn't hear all the dialog, but I'm sure Owens and the blonde weren't discussing the Cowboys. Somebody else may have to fill in any details I've omitted as I wasn't really paying attention until she dropped her towel.

This kind of stuff is fine for cable TV, or even late night, but I've come to expect more from ABC's MNF coverage. Of course, everybody's sorry now but what was ABC thinking? They had to know it was wrong and kids would be watching.

Kids would especially be watching in the earlier time zones.

They'll probably save Janet for the halftime shows. The thing is Desperate Housewives is actually a pretty good show, although definitely not for the kids , but this promo was much racier than anything I've seen on the show. Ridiculous ! I'm glad my kids are a bit older. We shouldn't have to monitor pro sports for content.

Your right wazman, even if it were on a cable channel it is still pro sports and kids will be watching.

Primetime TV has sunk to its lowest depths, I am a Father and a Grandfather I do not want to be uncomfortable and on guard watching TV in primetime, the Networks are talking about the 7 second rule I got one thing to say about that a little common sense would not make the 7 second rule a necessity on a promo's, live TV yes I think it is needed with the language that is allowed on TV today.

"Desperate Networks" is the name of this game.

Watch for more of the same as younger generations take over the top jobs at the major networks and employ the "act first-think last-then apologize if necessary" philosophy they've been raised on. We older guys are to blame for not being tougher on our kids and in allowing schools to worry more about kids' self-esteem than their self-control.

You make some good points valeogut. Also, the networks have to contend with cable channels, much more free to do what they wish content-wise, but both MNF & Desperate Housewives are big hits. This was a bone-headed and unnecessary move, that I hope winds up backfiring.
