After grilling the hot dogs and burgers, why not make dessert on the grill, too? This fun and easy party idea is a hit with kids of all ages.
Ingredients
1 18-ounce package refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
1 cup semisweet or milk chocolate and/or miniature candy-coated semisweet baking bits
1/2 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts
1 large banana, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons chocolate ice cream topping (optional)
Preparation Grill:11 minutesPrep:15 minutes
1 Press cookie dough into a greased 12-inch pizza pan. Grill cookie in pan for 10 to 15 minutes or until edges of cookie are lightly golden and top is set but not dry. Remove from grill (cookie may puff and fall at this point).
2 Drizzle caramel topping over cookie. Sprinkle chocolate pieces and/or baking bits, and peanuts over caramel. Return pan to grill for 1 to 2 minutes more or until chocolate pieces soften. Remove from grill and cool on a wire rack.
3 To serve, top with sliced bananas and, if desired, drizzle with chocolate topping; cut into wedges. Makes 12 servings.
Saw Joe Cocker last night. It was a great show. He has a new album out of old rock & soul standards for those who are into him. Gaye's "What's Goin On" , Franklin's "Chain of Fools" & McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" were especially strong.
We had a reasonable day this morning, then it just went south. Right now, I just went to Tim Horton's with my brother. The same Tim Horton's I work at. Everyone there gave me this look like "Why aren't you at home if you don't have to work?!" But I was on a donut run. And that discount was handy. Got me a hot chocolate while I was at it.
It's sooo sunny here... so hot, such good weather to play golf in, it's just great!
Apart from the sunburn
They have this new product called sunscreen that will help with that. 6" of snow here yesterday and it's not supposed to get warmer than freezing for a week. I was hoping we'd be playing by the beginning of March here, but that's looking doubtful & I can't kick this flu to boot
