No. I would like to go.
Yes. Although Bourbon Street may be a little crowded.
Anywhere.

I have be down there but not at Mardi Gras my suggestions:

1. Don't go near the gutters, if you seen cops or have ever drank too much think of a whole week of that. The gutters are a biohazard.

2. There is a big quality difference between the womens public restrooms and the guys.
The womens are ok the guys I would not go back in to something about toilets flushing backwards. My suggestion is to buy something at one of the bars so you can use their bathroom. PS. they keep them locked.

3. Wallet and all money in the front pockets.

4. Don't wear a watch. They can get it off. and if you drop it you wont want to wear it again.

5. Persoinaly I wouldn't go down town to the french quarter it might take you a long time to get back out.

I went once...it was about 10 pm Fat Tuesday, 2 hrs. before party over...motels full all the way from east Tx to Fla panhandle, hope you already made reservations...it's really a wild scene, you can't imagine the stuff I saw in 2 hrs. ...as mentioned before keep your girl and your money close at hand...Pat O'Briens is the only name of places I can really remember, don't worry you'll find something to eat, trust me. I would imagine golf would be easy enough, weather permitting. Basically, eat, drink, be merry....just don't eat too much, drink too much, or be too merry...watch where you step, lord, I've never seen such a mess...respect the cops...don't accept any "offers" that might come your way on the street. Oh, and take a cab.

Remember though, as a dedicated GR member, it is your responsibility to take many, many pictures and share them...those that can't be posted can be emailed to...

You have received some good advice jackamo, please be very careful in the quarter. Golfing will not be a problem as many of the locals will be celebrating. On the southshore the best courses are the TPC, it is brand new and very expensive, $154 per round. Then there would be English Turn, current site of the HP Classic, it is private but I'll bet jc can get you on with a phone call, if not email me and my pro can get you a tee time. The next best course is Eastover, semi private and around $75, it is a 36 hole course and very nice. If you need anymore info email me.

My best advice, since I've been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, instead of hitting the parades in downtown near bourbon, stay near Canal St. I'd advise you to really stay away from Bourbon Street at all cost. You get down in that mess, and you won't be able to get away from there because it is the most crowded area and the parade routes don't take any of the parades to Bourbon St.
Also, some of the best parades are actually in Metarie, which is about 10 minutes from Downtown N.O.
Email me if you want any directions to the Metarie parades. And maybe if you hit a Metarie parade, me and some of my friends could meet up with you. But don't ask me to go to the downtown area. I don't like downtown new orleans at all during Mardi Gras.

All the time we've played golf, you know I lived in New Orleans and you did not ask me.

Here is a great site to check out
http://www.nola.com/mardigras/

What ForgedRbest's Daughter and ForgedRbest's said is the deal.

I lived on St. Charles in the garden district and for 15 day's parades after parades went by my house. The first couple of days it was fun, but by the 5 or 6 day it got old.

Stay out of the quarter!

I can imagine what a mess people made out of your front yard when the Uptown Parades went by. Gah. How often did you have to chase people out of your yard?

Oh my god!

Here is a list.

Can I use your bathroom
Can I use your phone
Do you have any extra food
Do you have any extra beer
I have some other things but I don't think I can say.

I miss the food and thats it!

I go back to New Orleans 2 to 3 time a year.
My wife said this past weekend let's go back this or next weekend to New Orleans.
The best time is the weekend of Endymion and Bacchus.
