I was just wondering what other hobbies that people had besides golf. The things that we truly enjoy that let all of us escape life's little troubles for a while.
For me it's skateboarding, which has quite a few similarities oddly enough. The two are very individual sports, using practice and skill to pull off the shot or trick your going for. I do give golf one up on skating, if you make
a mistake in golf, the ball doesn't go where you planned. If you make a mistake skating, your in a quick battle with the pavement, and the pavement wins everytime. But when you hit that 7i 150 yards up hill pin high or you roll up and ollie down 10 stairs and stick a nice smooth landing, I love em' both!
I also skate in my free time, Aswell as read. I dont like skateboarding for the tricks or as such, More for the freeriding, Jus the simplicity of jumping on a board and riding round town, As when walking round a golf course, All just seems peaceful to me.
Trying to raise & keep up with a couple of teenagers takes up much of my free time these days. I read, surf the net. I like to ski, but didn't get out this year. I'm into snorkeling in the summer and someday soon will be taking a cruise to enjoy that hobby in places more fun than the Great Lakes & NY Finger Lakes. I used to skateboard when I was younger, but the things I see these kids doing now are way beyond anything I was capable of.
