Baskin and Robin's Black Cherry but we seldom get ice cream anymore. Here in KC frozen custard is the big thing and for good reason.
From Sheridan's site: "Custard is not the same as ice cream or frozen yogurt. For one thing, it's creamier. It is also smoother and thicker. Served about 25 degrees warmer than ice cream, custard has a smooth, velvety texture. It contains very little air (10-20% verses 50-90% in ice cream) but outrageously huge flavor. My favorite is their Grant's Grasshopper. Fresh vanilla custard, mint cookies, green mint flavor, and chocolate chip all blended together.
Even better is that their newest location in town is right next to Cabela's.
PingsRBest knows good ice cream - Blue Bell Banana Pudding!
And Baskin Robbins Jamocha Almond Fudge is awesome. But for store bought, take-it-home-and-eat-it ice cream, Blue Bell has got to be one of, if not the, BEST!

When I was in HS back in the dark ages (grad in 1971, in Brenham, TX), Blue Bell was a little, small town regional creamery that was doing well to keep Houston in ice cream. It's come a long way. And never lost sight of the quality.

We lived in Deer Park (near Pasadena?) in 1970 - 71 and I was in first grade! I remember eating Blue Bell at our neighbor's house. About 10 years later, while living in baton Rouge, one of my dad's friends invited us out to his ranch near San Antonio to go hunting. Every night for a week we sat around his big fireplace after dinner and ate home made pie and Blue Bell vanilla. The guy that owned the ranch always poured brandy over his! Didn't see Blue Bell again until about 6 years ago when my dad found it down here in Florida at Walgreen's! Now you can get it at several places, and it is as good as ever!
I'm not sure what it is called, but my grandma got this ice cream from the Swan man that had cake and blue frosting in it, really good with some chocolate syrup. I think it was called Party Cake.
