How Long before a round do you start to Prepare

How long before a round do you start to prepare???? The night before... with Breakfast in the morning... after your third practice swing on the first tee?

What types of things do you do mentally and physically. ex. Are you superstitious about what you have to eat? what shirt you wear? etc .

When I played hockey I had a number of superstitions like what I ate before a game, which skate I put on first etc. Just wondering If anyone believes in them or follows any cause I think that anything you do to make you think your going to have a good round can only help your game

I just usually show up, take a couple of practice swings, a drink of coffee and let her rip

As far as superstitions, I don't think I have any.

usually do several stretching exercises before I leave for the course. Then hit about 30 practice balls starting from sw on up to the driver. then try to get the speed on the practice green and a few chips to get the feel, then just relax on the first tee and start to focus.

I'd say I start five minutes before a round. Sense I don't eat breakfast I just have my normal redbull and maybe a candy bar or somthing and head on out.

I physically start getting ready about the time I step onto the first tee to hit my tee shot. A couple stretches, a few practice swings and go. By the second tee I'm plenty loosened up anyway. I'm sure as I progress toward OG status that routine will need to change. Mentally, I start getting ready on the drive to the course. I'll think about some of the holes I'll be playing early in the round and a possible strategy. When I walk out the door I can feel the way the wind's blowing so I'll know how it will blow across the course, etc.

I usually get to the course early, stretch and use the range just to warm up. Hit maybe 15-20 balls. But sometimes it is a last minute thing and go the the club and jump off the first tee

That's exactly what I do too wise guy. Mentally... I don't need no stinkin' strategy... I've dicovered too many of my shots tends to alter my well thought out strategery anyway.

I don't think this is a superstition, but I never play on a full stomach, nor do I eat when I'm playing.

Same here, unless I'm in a golf meet or something, then I go to the range for a little bit. I might putt a couple to get the speed down. I don't think I have any superstitions either.

Samew here, a few practice swings, a smoke and lay in it too it.
The only superstition I have is to remember to bring my clubs. I acually left them at home one time last year.Had a club champs match and was running late and just forgot them. Used a rental set out of the pro shop

Don't I feel like the noob.... I start the day before at the range with a bucket of balls. Then I go to the putting green for about 30 minutes. Then it's home to practice chipping for another 30 minutes. The day I play, I chip around my yard until my buddy comes to pick me up.

It really depends how important the round is...
if it's like a club day, practice bla bla I just get out of the car with my clubs run over to the the clubhouse, pay money, get a couple of drink bottles, grab some balls out of my bag and hit a couple of drives in the practice fairway then go to the 1st tee.
Now if it's like club champs, match play, big tournament stuff I can practice for the whole week before and when the day of the tournament comes I'm there at least 2 hours before and I hit a huge bucket of balls.(which prob isn't a good idea cos I've used all my energy hitting them . ... oh well)
oh and I have a few putts... not too many though... don't want to waste all the good ones

ha.. I'll be nice and just leave that one alone...

For a casual round I stretch my wrists in the car on the way there and usually show up right before my tee time, take a couple of practice swings and go... occasionally, and always for a tournament I will stretch well, hit a small bucket to get loose and chip and putt before the round... that always helps. The longest is on sundays... tomorrow I will show up at 1:00 to wait in line to sign up for twilight so we can be the first group off at 2:30...

The night before I try to take a 15LB barbell, swing it waist high in front w/ both hands and rotate around my hips. It stretches out my lower back and hip turn. Then again in the morning. I do very light barbell lifting, then I drink a light energy drink an hour before the round and buy food to bring along. I'm usually late and don't have time for the range. I practice putting to get a feel of the green speed for a few minutes. I step up on the tee, and start swinging my driver hard to get loose. It usually takes me 12 holes to get warmed up to the point I'm playing single hc golf. I Tee it up, put a good swing on the ball and five minutes later I'm marking my scorecard +1 or +2 over. I usually have a poor front nine and a +4 back nine. And after the round I come back home and ho' clubs on ebay.
